Well, Marty is doing just this type of project at the KLRWorld.com Forums-
Holy crap, man! LINK!!!! :
You've got it locked up behind a sign in screen. Why do websites play these games? I don't have time to join and surf every website under the sun.
server time costs money. Requiring registration cuts down on the casual browsers.
It's a lot less than some site owners lead the sheeples to believe. They ask for donations and buy more motorcycles and guns and stuff because the website doesn't take much money per month to run at all. It costs so little that it isn't even funny. Now a website this size does cost some cash, but it still isn't an out of this world sum.
I'm not talking about Hondo. I've never visited his site.
Thats an amazing amount of insight.
Hondo, looked for the thread you were speaking of, couldn't find it, link please?
There is an extensive technical library located there- registration protects the content and the members from scammers & spammers.
I do not accept donations, not my style. And you have no idea how much time I and other Admins and moderators spend maintaining a forum.
Now, back on topic....
I though about the same thing, till I test rode the KTM..........
Would be a great project though, may still look into it...
just wondering how to start my own topic
Take away the inches of sag and you may find you have the same as an 08, and if what is there works better...then what is the point?
Ignornace has a loud voice. Perhaps when you have 7,000 miles on an 08 you view may change. Experience can do that sometimes ::eek1
If by "topic" you mean a new thread, you simply click on the "new thread" button near the top left of the page. I would suggest you do a search for your topic though, most have been covered pretty well.
Come on by Larryboy.
As the old saying goes, "You won't know what you're missing 'till you take a look".
Just digging through some old threads when I came upon this jewel. The first quoted post is the opening post of the thread which saberstud quoted in his final post of note on this thread which claims that, that idiot Glenn's, knob polishing "review" of the new KLR proved him right.
Classic case of believing only what supports your preconceived opinion. I especially liked this line..."OBTW, for the record...I think the 2008 model will have more power and will be about the same wieght as the 2007, contrary to information on the new model up to this point."
Well I wanted to see if he ever got his '08 so I looked at his profile and sure enough there is an '08 KLR650 on his list of previously owned bikes. So I checked his posts to see what he thought about it after he got one. Hmm... After his last post in this thread saberstud didn't post again for 2 years and then it was a post about buying a NX650. He never posted anything again about KLR's.
Must have got one of the oil burners...
