Well, after being a thoughtful husband and taking care of some plumbing associated with new countertops...I went riding.

First stop, White Lick Presb church. Stopped here on Christmas day last Dec.

Also been here before, but it is close to home and I like it here.

Stopped because I felt something enter my helmet. Glanced down and saw a bee on my chinbar. A bee. On the first day of Dec., a bee.

Likely to be last report for the season, but maybe we'll have a mild winter again.

Divested myself of the passenger and took this shot of the lonely road west of Danville.

Good thread, I have a soft spot for old Suzuki's and the Midwest. Your tires look like Shinko 230 Tourmaster's? How do they work for you? I have thought about getting them for a few old bikes I have.

Tourmasters are working out fine. I bought them based on reviews on thegsresources.com. Lot of of 'zukes on them and they have earned a really good reputation.

I haven't pushed them too hard---but not because of the tires, but the brakes. Had a significant problem when i rebuilt them this summer and it took months to figure out why I had little braking power. Another ADV'er (bwringer) fixed them just a few weeks ago and now I am not pushing them because I don't like to push cold tires too hard.

Have my eye on another oddball Suzuki for next summer. A friend has a '91 VX800 that I may buy. Just trying to convince the spouse that I need another strange bike in the garage.

Good to know about the Tourmasters. A VX800 looks fun, I've had my eye out for a clean GS650G or GS850G until I found a nice 82' GS1100E but stable space isn't always easy to come by. Keep the good stuff coming.

I'd happily take the 1100E. One of the best looking GS bikes, in my opinion. A lot of bike!

I might have rappelled into that bridge, a long time ago with some friends. :D

There are a few different stories about the "ghost". One involves a worker that fell into the wet cement while they were pouring the pillars. The other involves a lady dropping her baby off the bridge into the creek.

Great shots of Indiana! I'm helping my friend resurrect a Suzuki GS650L, fun bike!

Okay, this may be the last report until it gets warm again. It was supposed to be in mid-50's today, but only hit 43 degrees. I need better cold weather gear. Not sure it matters much, just got the forecast calling for snow.

Had several pictures, but my computer ate all but one. Nothing special--just a local park with a Frisbee golf course. Just a cold, gray day of riding.

    We did indeed!

Glad you got out to ride today, it might be our last good day for a while. We'll see how this storm goes!

I decided it was not going to be warm for some time and started working on the bike today. Going to replace the headlight brackets with some off a GS550. Mine were damaged when the PO's son tried to learn how to ride and dropped the bike.

Ended up trying to get the fuel gauge working--no such luck. Ah well. Lousy weather and time to work on it again tomorrow.:D

We've had a long winter and winter has not wanted to let go easily this year. I've started stripping the paint, but haven't finished the job yet. I have no idea what color I want to paint it, but hey--no rush, right? :D

It looks like it is finally going to warm up and that means the farmers will launch into the planting season and Indiana will soon be green again. Until then, brown dominates the color scheme. Only one picture today--just not much interest in showing you brown fields. On the plus side, the bike is running as well as I could hope.

Nice pics and I have run some of the same roads. I live in Mooresville. You need to get down to Brown County and further South for some great riding.

Nice pics. I have a hard enough time finding interested roads around Fort Wayne.

You got me. As much as I enjoy reading those epic once in a lifetime RR from distant lands, it's ones like this that I enjoy the most. I'm from down the road a few hours west but drove on many of those roads as a kid. All that and I have a weakness for classic bikes so yea, I'm in. I'm away on assignment for a bit longer so this carries me back at mentally during my downtime.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

Yup some good roads around there. I've been wanting to check out the back roads around Atterbury. Ever been there?

Ride up that way to visit family from time to time, been through Avon too. Aunt lives in Pittsboro and cousins spread from there west out to Jamestown and Lizton. I like to come up 135 and then up to Martinsville to Danville. Good riding for sure.

Great report, rr. Thanks and keep it coming!

I'm a few years behind you, but it's funny how we took pictures of the same things in Danville!
