Must be a 4 stroke. I've had Honda and Yamaha 4 strokes and when cold weather hits you better get your game on :rofl

the stock 350 exc is choked up and runs lean, hard to start and stalls, I was hoping we could leave it stock but decided on a FMF, remapped to the XCF, and regeared; the difference is huge; go talk to Munn

btw the 500 exc has no such issues, starts without the choke, single cam, fan, runs like a beast

the 350 is worth the fine tuning

a few other things, you need to bump the start button not hold it down and give the throttle just a bit of a twist

if you have to kick a FI bike the first kick is to charge the capacitor, the 2nd or third will start, but if hot leave the choke out

gonna save for a rekluse for the 350 exc, its a little high strung and stalls wont lug up hill

So the 2012 350 is FI! I originally assumed so but then I quickly scanned the Bikez.com specs and saw carburetor. After double checking, I now see Keihin EFI. Oooops.

Good info Jbay. Hopefully the new guy will see your post. Maybe you should PM him.

Was this latest maintenance issue a result of your ride at RTB, some other event or did it just die?

Looking at his bike, I think he must have tried to start it while hydro locked. Starter and flywheel both missing teeth. Maybe it spent time in Arkansas:lol3

The Hell you say. Nuh-uh. Nope. It was clearly a manufacturing defect.

In other news, does anyone ever actually ride a motorcycle around here? 5:00 and my boots are near the door. I can ride alone but really prefer that others see the stupid shit I do. For posterity.

I just moved to the north side of San Antonio from New Mexico. This morning 15 Dec, at around 10:30, I was heading south on Blanco and encountered a group of about 6 adventure (mostly VStroms I think) riders heading north into the Hill Country. Ya'll know any of these folks? I would love to get in touch with a group of riders here. Thanks in advance for the help!

Good on ya Hizzo! Now we have a new guy to throw dirt on. ha. I have only ridden the BMW once since I bought the KTM---. AND--- Its been up to 93 mph--- too fast for me. The bar ends have been in the dirt maybe 100 times in two years. I am not used to the smooth, rested, clean, stop every block for lights, signs, cars etc. I may have been influenced by " Pigpin" at some point. Anyhow, Im lookin forward to pickin your brain at the ride breaks about the tech stuff that is your reputation. Ive been busy with honey doos. Sooo-

I truly want my new two wheeled friends to have the best for the new year and keep the shunts down so that they only cost money for motorcycle parts and not for body healing stuff. Best Regards from old Has Been:norton

I saw the replys and appreciate the help. The dealer I bought it from said put it in the garage, no way on the side of a mountain. Talked to Munn and they were more helpful, barely blip the throttle while cranking. That worked to a degree but not sure about it starting at 15 to 20 degrees.
    Thanks for the replys!

Try cutting back on the cheap vodka and go make a bunch on fast right-handed turns and the withdrawals will soon pass. If that doesn't work, try riding all day Saturday at the top speed of 45 mph. Stop twice to fix it. Good luck in shaking this strange desire.
