i just tried to get the folks at Maxbmw,,they ran several sets of Superlaced wheels on oem hubs to podium spots at Pikes Peak and another USA rally[Steve Mauk at the helm]...but my e-mails won't go thru,,,,frustrating:dunno

I will gladly beat the snot out of them for the hell of it over baby sized boulders and tree roots here in GA. Thinking about a last minute entry to the SB Rally, but timing is everything at the moment. Also have a TransAmerican Trail trip planned on an HP2, I promise to race everyone I find

thanks to you,,,got a hold of Steve Mauk ,,,he gratiously declined and handed me over to Max BMW racers,,,Doug Morrison and Mark Albertson opining that these two commanded the respect of the racing community AND had the accumen to provide me with solid data over the comming season,,,a season sprinkled with a broad series of tests,,,rallies,,,MX venues,,,x-country races and ????

my caveat that they wring the hell out of the wheels and provide objective feedback to the readership and me was accepted,,,,here we go:thumb

we've checked em out ,,,,but not in the crucible of competition,,,,racing improves the breed they say,,,and i for one believe in this concept and you ALL will reap the rewards,,,,:super

    thanks woody

PS,,,i've had several volunteers get a hold of me,,,,Don;t worry i myself can run the snot out of em,,,sooo what,,,,i need the God's to approve em for your benefit,,,'nest pas????

Well, as fate had it, 2 days before I talked with Woody, the set that I had ordered through Chris (son of Woody) made up using the stock BMW hubs arrived for proper tire mounting. These will be used as a back up set to the ones that will be arriving tomorrow at Max's BMW dealership in NH. I told Woody, that we will do the best to beat the snot out of these things, I also do alot of riding in Vermont and there I will test these on some of the trails used at the MOA National in 2006 for the GS ride, (we did not get to the good stuff due the the slow train of riders that day). Sandblast Rally, yup here we come, also going to ride Rally Tenn (Use Woody's 17 inch set up for that one) WV and Black River, also going to race in a 6 series NY rally schedule, which is more of a Hare Scramble type of course. They will be tested!!!! Mark and I appreciate the attitude and desire that Woody and his gang have put into this product. Hopefully, The Big HP-2's won't dissapoint, they are a hoot to ride at speed in the woods!! Thanks Woody :clap Mark and I will report in after next weekends Sandblast Rally event. Rally On!!!

Yes, I'm still fuzzy after last night, BUT, The creation that Mr. Woody has created for Mark and I too thrash are on the HP!! Mounted up a set of deserts on Saturday and did the final prep before we load the bikes up on Tuesday. I'll say this, the front is substantially lighter than the other Stock/woody conversion that I had built up and the rear is noticably lighter also. The machine work if first rate and the design has a lot of thought put into the hubs. Won't have a chance to try the bike out until we get down to South Carolina on Thursday. Hope to get a few miles in and also brake in the front rotor for the Rally on Saturday. Woody and his crew came through with a tight timeline and many thanks to his organization!! first rate stuff, I have had two sets of wheels built by them and they are worth every penny, top shelf components!!! Mark and I will report form the hotel after a few shakedown runs!! going to be a hoot!!!:1drink

Sorry, to take this long to report in, but what a day, Mark had a great ride and I faired not too bad myself, Those HP-2's are a monster of a dirt bike and in those 90's are a real handful to scrub off speed and get them pointed in the right direction for the next run up around 100 MPH. First, for Woodies sake, Victor from Xplor took a bunch of pictures of your creation on our HP's, I'll see if Mark can get him too post some up. The Wheels, well one word, Perfect, especially the front, noticable improvement all around, the rear is a little jewel and gave the HP's that Works Woody Look.

I had a number of instances where I could not slow the bike down after running down the straights, went either through or under the caution ribbon and had to blast that beast back over some preety hairy stuff. The wheels took all the abuse I could give em,

I had a coil begin to fail on me in stage 4 and lost the left cylinder completely in stage 5, luckily Ben had a magnificient endo in stage 1 and we quickly diagnosed and removed the good componets from his bike during the Cheraw Service. Got the "Buffalo" up on all two woodies wheels and was back in the hunt, but too late and brought the HP home 9th overall.

Next is Rally Tenn, and I'll be running woodies motar set up that I had him build last year, In the meantime I'm going to try an outdoor motocross event in New York with the Rally Setup and let ya know how they fair under those conditions.

Woodie, all good, and great stuff!!!!!!:clap
