Just got done unloading the truck. Wow. What a great weekend. Some of the most fun I've EVER had riding, and some great times with some familiar faces, as well as quite a few new ones. Thank you, Bill, for making this thing happen. I'm already looking forward to next year!

I've just gotten home, working on putting things away.

Thanks so much to all of you for your concern and care.

    So here's the story ....

I was heading to Kernville Friday night after work, to attend WARPED. Managed to leave the house by 6:15, gas in Mojave at 8:00. Heading north on the 14 just past Redrock-Randsberg Rd. I came up a hill and there was a truck, a big rig, making a u-turn on the road in front of me. I didn't even immediately register what I was seeing, what I saw was the reflector tape along the trailer. I went grabbed all the brake I could, slowed enough and cleared the truck, but lost control of the bike, and went down in the right side traffic lane. Think it took a minute, but I got to my feet, was trying to figure out how I'd get the bike up, when I realized there was traffic coming. They weren't able to see the bike as they got to the top of the hill in much time to avoid the bike, most of them managed to miss it, but one car hit the bike. I know for sure the rear wheel is broken, don't really know how much other damage.
I seem to be entirely unhurt, except for a few more that my usual aches and pains.

Glad to hear you're OK Kathy, scary stuff!
    Fukin' trucks!!!!

If you're sore I got a big bottle of happy pills!

Good luck getting your bike sorted, I'd gladly trade fixing/replacing a bike anyday to going under the knife.

Now Kathy, that'll be enough of that shit! So glad you are OK. So sorry about the bike, but obviously you are more important.

Did you get back OK, or just call AAA or the like to sort you out?

Karen sends her regards as well. Not cool. :cry

Thanks Brice, really sorry you weren't able to make it.

Tow company still has the bike, the family picked me up and spent the weekend in Kernville while I attended warped

Well, at least you got to drink your sorrows away for the weekend.

Karen was just mentioning while we were out today (I can finally walk again) that she was really upset we couldn't go. She's due for a break, so I feel awful that my stupid injury ruined things for the whole family.

I'm so glad that you weren't dinged up- while we were out today, we saw sooooo many squids out on bikes with just a helmet for safety gear and it always makes me cringe. Pavement hurts- even with the gear. I'm sad we couldn't help out in one way or another, but glad it worked out as best as possible it sounds.

Some of us are closer to one of those adjectives than the other. I know to which side I'm skewed.... :1drink
