One Australian, one Canadian, two Americans, 2 KLRs, one 2006 XR650L and one nineteen eighty-forever-ago Honda XL350 all gaggle down the WABDR over the course of 8 days. Camping along the way whenever bikes break down or we get tired. Last year we tried to do the WABDR but we were thwarted by snow. This year we picked up where we left off to continue our journey south. Day 1: We rode from base (Tonasket WA) to 25 mile creek, South of Chelan. We took a lot of shortcuts but avoided as much highway/pavement as practical. Nothing much to report, just the odd breakdown of the old honda 350, the occasional blue puff of smoke as oil drained from the leaking head all over the engine and a stop at Wal-Mart. We spiked out for the night and as luck would have it another forum member (IgnacioB) stopped to chat and ended up making camp with us. He even shared his 12 year old scotch! The video ride report starts with day 2. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bwVdQo_rSIw?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'll be posting up new videos as I make them. Probably one a week. Feedback on videos is appreciated.
