Wow, that is great Dave. I think those tracks are pretty cool.
Keep up the great work.
This is really a great ride report. I'm heading up to Jasper from Oakland, CA starting next Saturday. Once the holiday weekend rush is over, I'm thinking that things might get a little quiet out there, or hoping so anyway. After seeing your photos, I'm really looking forward to seeing the icefield parkway, and have reconsidered, and now think I'll check out the Going to the Sun.
Again, great report!
Great ride report, from finish til end! Very well done. Thanks for taking the time to post it all. I know how much of a pain it can be to get it all together.
Bravo, thanks for sharing. This trip looked absolutely epic. You told it so well, and coming from a photography nut, your images are stunning. It's got all the elements!
I showed this to my wife, and she read it front to back. I think it might have been the final tipping point for the green light to buy my brand new bike So a big THANK YOU.
Keep it up!
I'm Speechless! What an awesome ride report.
The pictures, the comentary, the video, all top shelf! My Alaska trip is scheduled for next June, riding some of the same roads that you were on. I feel like I've been there already through your RR.
Thanks for an entertaining write up!
I've only been here awhile, but have followed a dozen or so reports... this by far is my favorite. I spent a few years in Alaska flying around doing aerial survey, and this is one of the best representations I have seen in photos! Unreal, where can I get some tips to make my photos this great! haha!!! awesome!
Amazing trip guys. Thanks for letting us ride along.
Thanks to everyone that participated and to those that just followed along.
You guys have warmed up the SmugMug servers with nearly a million views of my photos in the past month!
This photo seems to be a favorite of some and captured one of the highlights of our journey.
Although you guys seemed to like it, I wasn't completely satisfied with how it turned out.
Just for you guys, here is a re-do, this time without HDR.
wow great RR...your photography skills/editing are amazing and loved your adventure of a lifetime. WE loved up there too and btw...we use the Panasonic T3...we like it! You also make riding through the Atigun Slippery Pass look easy sitting down two up! Good on you both!
just read thru the whole report tonight as Hurricane Isaac was trying to force its way inside and not letting me sleep!!! (i'm in Morgan City)
your photos bring back some great memories, you have a superb eye for small details, i covered a lot of roads you were on last year...and wonder how i missed some of what you saw
i head out on monday for another 30,000 miles and looking at your photos i would leave in the morning if it wasn't like it is outside...this site is so inspiring thanks to guys like you who do ride reports at such a high level
Thanks for taking the time to prepare your awesome RR. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Not only am I caught up, but I went back and read the John's Canyon RR too...
(sorry I missed that one the first time through)
Yep, guess you made rocky uphills your favorite!
After all those stunning photos, it's going to take a while for my eyes to re-adjust to boring, bland reality
What a wonderful well written and photographed ride report. Thank you for using hours of your precious family time to put this together.
TTT so that others may enjoy this fabulous jewel.
Ok Dave I am on page 1, great intro fantastic pics, The shot looking up in the sequoias... wow!!! can i use it on my desktop for a bit?
Thanks so much for taking the time to put this all together for us.
Oh, and your wifes smile made me smile.
Great report I enjoyed the entire thing. It's fun seeing couples enjoying adventures together.
The only problem with this report is now I want to go to AK again. I've only seen a small portion which I enjoyed but seeing so many ride reports where the few photos and description of the Haul Road shows it as bland and nothing to see I decided it wasn't worth the trip. Now you go and show me that it's not bland at all and there is a lot more to see than just a shot or two of a gravel road, pipeline and a truck or two. Thanks, I think :huh
Your photography is stunning, you have so many great photos in this report but my favorite is still the rainbow because to me it really shows adventure and the beauty out there.
Happy anniversary to the two of you and thank you for sharing your ride with us.
Thanks for all of the new replies! I really appreciate your comments.
Just for you, I took another look at this photo.
You all have viewed my photos 1.1 million times in the last month!:eek1
Just for you guys, I made this one look a little nicer.
I have never seen as many awsome photos... on any ride report.
What sort of cameras did you carry? (Ignore that, found the cameras).
I took another approach with this photo from Ten Mile Lake, British Columbia.
