I have done everything I can think of while I am waiting for the parts. So now my break lights are working again, what is good. After Sandra rode off the ferry from Baja with no rear lights in the dark and our rear lights aren´t too bright anyway I looked for some small LEDs in red to install at the rear and found some that fit between number plate and number plate light. They were 1 US a piece and pretty bright. So now we have that on the bikes as well. I cleaned all the parts from Sandra´s motor and all is in boxes waiting to go back together. I failed trying to get the race off the crankshaft. The burner I got is just not powerful enough. I got the address of the best motor repair guy in town, and will probably go visit him tomorrow and see what he can do. Didn´t try to get the bearing out of the housing yet. Still waiting for a hammer to help with that.

After 2 weeks of sunshine in Cuauhtèmoc it is overcast today with some raindrops every now and then. The temperature dropped from pleasant 21°C to only 10°C and it is supposed to get even colder the next days. Well the town is at 2200 m elevation so the temperature is not that surprising in December. Made a drawing today and went to a workshop to have them make me a tool to change the race on the crankshaft. Hope that will work well. Of course Fedex didn´t deliver our parts yesterday to El Paso, but only wants to do that today. Well it is nice here so we don´t mind staying extra days. (sigh)

Today the temperature dropped to below 5°C and it snowed lightly for most of the day. Who cares – sitting in a heated room. Parts are delivered to El Paso. Now we are waiting for them to get here.

I would be interested in this sketch. As a teenager I made such a tool for our motorcycles together with a friend from water pipes, screws and bearing balls. The friend's father was the head of the waterworks and at night we sneaked into the workshop attached to the house.

And then over night we got 10 cm of snow. The streets are pure ice at the moment, but the sun is shining again.

Just look at my bike. That´s how I found it this morning.

Some even found enough snow to get creative.

Is it normal for the town to get some snow at this time of year

The situation is similar in Switzerland. My commute home from work took a little more time tonight.

You go to work with the bike in december in Switzerland. That´s tough. So it is snowing in Bern again. Maybe the car tomorrow? :-)

And then the manager knocked on our door with a bag full of parts. Great! So yesterday was a busy day. We changed the bad bearing on the crankshaft and then I put the case back together. Crank is running smooth and the axial play seems to be ok. Piston, cylinder, head and cover went back on. Enough for the day.
