Congrats Dude! That's quite the achievement!
Brewing some pruno in the bath tub right now.
I mean, technically it's a fancy "brew at home" kit I got for Christmas, but I'm brewing apple juice from concentrate with wine yeast, so it'll be pretty prisony.
Just drank a '09 Abyss last month that I've had around for a few years. Pretty good. Wish I had a '15 to compare with but I'll just drink the beer if it's in front of me.
There's some worthwhile beer (AND WHISKEY) in central Texas. Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling (they are a grain to bottle distiller and they're good), Jester King, Freetail, and Austin Beerworks come to mind.
I will be at the Firkin Fest in Portland today. It is a Cask fest at the Green Dragon. Anyone else going? Also are any of you going to the MBAA meeting in Hood River coming up?
Headed to Idaho tomorrow to check in on our public house so will be going through hood river which always means a stop at Pfriem.
Wait! What? Do tell of this Idaho public House you speak of.
my brother and I are co-owners to the extent that the law allows, and the primary owner helped found our brewery. When they first opened I curated their beer list and Stephen trained, and worked on, serving and beer education. We are giving a talk there on Monday
since we are now making beer I can no longer curate the beer list (thanks outdated liquor laws!) or have say on what they serve, but they are good people and pro good beer and grub.
My new years resolution for 2017 is going to be working 6 days a week instead of 7. I can hear killerD laughing at me now... "yeah right rookie"!
Sent from my fart smone using crapatalk
Mother of mercy
Bacon wrapped pork medallions and beer brat stew. Altogether $22. Damn it was good
Be still my beating heart!! Literally...
This Friday they will be pouring a dry hopped cask version on a beer engine and I will be there to sample.
Brewed up a ESB for the Tacoma Art Museum last week and am working on a Belgian Golden Strong recipe now. It will be the first beer to go into our new Foeder. Also transferring 2 batches of Flemish Red to barrels.
Ha, that's funny. we just brewed up an ESB last week. Got a pilsner going and 20bbls of our hoppy wheat.
Just brewed up my first Lemmy Tribute, A blood Orange Hef called "Hef Forever". Should be a bitchin summer slammer. Also just started the ride report from our trip to the BN Spring Fest with a few other brewers. Short, but pretty damn epic! http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/2016-brewing-network-spring-fest-moto-tour.1137309/
KillerD - Your Hef sounds tasty and that ride looks right up my alley. Also congratulations on the great write up in the Northwest Brewing News. Sounds like you have come up with a unique and effective process.
Brew today is our Puget Sound Porter.
Simple but good.
Thanks much! Also, thanks for letting me know there was a write up; I had no idea.
That just happened to me about a month ago with a write up. I had no idea..
I leave tonight towards The Legendary Boonville Beer Fest. I have lots of great stops planned and will try to stop and try some of your brews.
