Tiger needs a beat down!! We could try one more time?? I can always turn around if it gets to deep.
I'm definitely in for this ride you're thinking of next July...I haven't ridden nearly enough this year, partly because of my lower back issues and partly because the fishing has been so damn good down here. I still want to ride Lassen and up to Crater Lake as well...Hmmmm....
Nice ride guys, those rocks look like a lot of fun...It almost reminds me of Hancock Pass eh Brien??
"It almost reminds me of Hancock Pass eh Brien?? "
Yeah, but I do a lot better in the rocks now, even for an old fart.
You bet! I am in for sure.... Keep me posted!
This ought to be good, I'll have to ride sweep since I won't be able to keep up with you guys. He rides a Husky TE610 and a better rider than I. 12 years my junior.
I have become busy for a bit but am looking at going on the 20th. I need to know how easy it is to get to those rocks. How far and if motorhomes can make it. it looks like a good spot to ride or maybe even hold a trials event there.
If any other people know of good rocky spots keep me posted. I ride Trials so I am always looking for rocks, smooth ones not the volcanic stuff as I can not afford new tires every time I ride.
Plenty if rocks up there! Spring valley is is a good area.
A lot of private property in the area and very strict about staying on the established trails. Mess it up and this area could very easily be shut down. From what I've read on line regarding this area, "The Friends of the High Lakes" had to fight to keep this open and thereby got it designated as an OHV area. DON'T ABUSE IT PLEASE!!! Enjoy it As for an actual "event" up there, ??? as for motorhome access, you're asking the wrong person. I'm not an advocate of a motorhome going off-road in any stretch of the imagination. Take your Dakar up for a ride to the sign board and make that decision for yourself. After that a lot more will become clear. For the rocks, at the sign board turn right and it takes you into the High Lakes OHV area. The sign board shows the private area, Even a couple of the lakes are private.
Great RR and pix, but by the images, I don't think my GSA will be heading up there anytime soon!:huh
I see rocks, I get excited. Staying on the trails is kinda funny.
I will respect all laws, and a ride up on the Dakar is in order.
it could be a nice place for some personal practice.
Trials riding is very different than rock crawlers. If the rock crawler is in there no one would mind a Trials bike.
I would like anyone reading this to feel welcome coming to this weekends Trials event. Our event this weekend is at our Clubs private property. the Property is above Grass Valley about an hour. Eagle Lakes turn off I-80. Signal Peak is on this turn out. event both days. if interested check out Sacramento Pits. www.sactopits.org that is off the top of my head so if that doesn't work check harder. Anyway this is very spectator friendly and doesn't cost anything. Camp at the property and make a weekend out of it. if you have Questions ask me.
sooo the last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of work and a touch of play, when the dust settled I parted with my little 230 and have a new machine to break in.. still 80+ outside can't ask for much more, well maybe just 1 good rain...
~~~Who wants to play!?
What size?, I can't tell. Don't know KTM that well. Nice though
...the first part of November if the weather holds out. Bob's working a deal for a different bike right now and it would be a good initiation ride for you guys and your new bikes if he gets it.
Its a 2013 350 exc-f. This one fits me. I'm game for sure let me know if the deal works out
