I'll be using this thread to post the occasional weekday ride........see how it goes anyway.

Depending on where we're heading, start point may be anywhere from Kenilworth to Tiaro. (I'm in Gympie) and cover roughly between 200 and 400 ks as far afield as (say) Woodford, Childers or the South Burnett.

These are slow, easy paced rides with an emphasis on having a bit of a look around the countryside via gravel roads and the easiest tracks, with stops for sightseeing and a bit of a yarn. Mostly there'll be only the minimum bitumen but on some of the rides further afield, there may be more tar back roads.

So that's....SLOW and EASY.......it's up to the individual, but any rider of reasonable capabilities should be OK. Don't worry about being too slow.

On the other hand, while everbody is welcome, if you're looking only for a bit of pace and more technical stuff, this may not be for you.

Express interest via this thread and feel free to post rides in here if you feel it's appropriate. For rides keep an eye on the thread.......if you don't visit the forum regularly, it's apparently possible to set up email notification of new posts in a particular thread....check it out.

    Please read first post.

    That's this Thursday.

About 200 k's of gravel roads, easier foresty tracks and necessary tar......fuel at the start, finish and halfway mark (Widgee shop). Nothing hard but some sort of knobbies'd be handy.

Meet at Matilda Kybong (that's on the Bruce about 10k's south of Gympie) in time to LEAVE at 9.00am. Carry a bit of lunch or take your chances.

Yes, Fridays are good. If you like I can work out a bit of a loop from a halfway meeting point (Booubyjan?). Be warm enough for an earlier start in a few weeks.

Did you get down around Anduramba etc? Oldmanmuzza and I passed through Toogoolawah towards Crows Nest and back up to Cooyar on our way to Bunya Mountains last week. Some of the side roads looked promising. Now that the weather is picking up I wouldn't mind having a look in there one day.

If I have a few days notice I can arrange a day off. Preferably not a Wednesday as that is my Management Team Meeting mornings. I will keep an eye out for updates.

Top day today. Perfect weather, good roads and pleasant company. What more could you want?

Two starters.....Andrew from Pomona on a DRZ400 and Mick from down Yandina way on a (I'm guessing here)...mid 70's(?) BMW..... I haven't been through that Wrattens-Kandanga Rd for a while and it was a bit rougher than I remembered, but no worries to Mick.

Thanks for coming out gents....I had an excellent day and hope we can do it again.

First stop on the side on unknown mountain between Amamoor and Glastonbury. (I'd like to know the name of it.....seems to be to the NW of Moorooreerai.)

Great day out, big thanks to Dave for organising it and definitely count me in for the next one.

The only stress of the day, which track to take next.

Perfect skies, perfect weather, perfect tracks.

Where else would you rather stop for lunch

    This Wednesday 15th August

    Kilcoy, Anduramba, Blackbutt, Moore, Elginvale.....

Couple of us are meeting at Kilcoy this Wednesday. Bitumen over to Harlin, mixed backroads down to Anduramba, then up through Nukinenda to Blackbutt. From there we go through the forest, a short bit of highway (+-10ks) to Moore, up Eastern Branch and through the back way past the old Elgin Vale forest staion to the Murgon-Kilcoy Road near Gallangowan and towards home.

About 120 ks from Kilcoy to Blackbutt (fuel) and probably about 150 or so after Blackbutt if you carried on back to Kilcoy from Gallangowan. A fair bit of it is new to me but I'm reasonably clear on it.

Same old story....just putting along, sightseeing etc.....have a look at the first post in this thread. Carry lunch.

So if you're interested, let me know here and be at Yowie Park, opposite the BP at Kilcoy to leave at 8.30 Wednesday.

hey woop, do you have a gps?
if so, would you be interested in having a look up a foresty trail for my go pro? it is a trail that runs off amamoor rd and links up with ward rd at the top.
    if not no worries

Woopwoop, just watch out for a couple of slight detours and gates towards the northern end of the Eastern Branch Rd. one goes around broken timber in an old cattle grid, it has a large drum in it now, and the other is right up the end.

Sorry, no GPS. Ward Road that runs off Happy Valley Rd? If that's the one you mean, I haven't been in that specific way but that forestry right there has a maze of tracks from real easy to the other extreme. If you give me the co-ords of both ends I can google them and have a look next time I'm out there.

    Thanks for that, Cruz.
