Last September, me and 2 friends trucked our bikes to the far SE corner of Oregon to explore the Steens/Alvord area. The trip was much too quick and we plan to explore more there later. Great weather, and probably one of the most remote areas I've been to.

I rode over from Eugene last August and stayed along the South Loop Road on the west side of Steens. I've put over 11,000 miles on my '09 KLR, but this was my first longer recreational ride. Looking forward to many more trips this summer, with fly rod in tow. Thanks for sharing your photo's.

When you return you should plan to ride the loop road on the west side if you haven't been there. Spectacular scenery. The Rooster Comb along Big Indian Canyon is the most rugged, but no problem for these bikes of course.
