Fawns are supposed to be born in April, not late August. We've noticed around here too, how the deer seemed to be dropping fawns way off their season.

Actually listing the establishment date of the "Squatters Camp" and seemingly proud of it!

I've been told that if you squat long enough, and can prove it, you can still make a land claim if nobody chases you off. I have not verified that,...but it sounds interesting

Ah, maybe that's why a date is posted on the sign. Interesting as I thought those days were long gone.

Do a little internet search. Squatter's possession in Idaho is possible, but there are very specific 'rules.'

On a rural Jeep ride earlier this week with a fellow ADV rider.
We were following a river and trying to see how far this little road went and wanted to determine where it might take us.

We stopped to look over a dry creek bed that came down off a rather steep rock covered area.

Sometimes you see cool shit in dry creek beds, where as normally this area can be underwater. Fun to look for old bottles and junk.

We were not expecting what we found.

    Jimmy Hoffa's tomb? :uhoh

This was the part of the creek bed where it approaches and empties into a larger river just as it leaves the cover of the woods.
I expect in the springtime this area would be totally submerged some years, with water clear up to the tops of the hills on the left and right.

It was fun to ponder what may have happened here. Seems to have matched the lines of around a 1955 Chevy or GMC PU.

    And then we moved on.

Flash floods and mudslides are a force to respected in the Northwest. I saw a old growth tree 6 ft in diameter busted like a twig from a little reported slide season in november 1998. My hunting bud and I were stuck in the hills south of Riffe lake for 10 days. Good thing we had lots of beer and food. Critters don't like it when the ground moves under them.

But nothing compared to the OSO slide. Yes there is a town buried under that pile of mud.

The more I ride out back the less weird it's getting but I'm seeing more and more of these dead bunny rabbits on the trail which have died from lead poisoning.:lol3
