Had the Ural all prettied up for a show this weekend but of course something had to happen just a couple days before the event (broken throttle cable) so had to take the car instead.

I just rolled over 17K on the KLX today, picked it up with about 12.5K just over a year ago. I feel like those are some pretty good number in a year. :gdog

Folks start showing up around 8ish, it gets hard to find a close spot by 9:30 mid-summer. Quiets down by 11ish. Many use it as a group launch point for rides and breakfast runs.

Especially if it has the stock seat. Back in the day, 1971 to be exact, I put 11,000 on my new Yami Dt-1. My girlfriend never forgave me, thankfully.

Well, not planning on a trailer queen kind of show. More of a ride and show whatever you got. Daily riders, home brewed concoctions from any genre.

Galesburg has an annual event called Greater Galesburg Days. They have asked us if we would consider putting on a bike show for a day. Can't hardly turn down that request....a lot of little towns are not extremely biker friendly. We also happen to be located on the main street and the big parade goes right by the shop.

GIlmore's is one of the largest shows in the mid-west and it tends to draw more of the restoration crowd. What we are intending to do is have more of a laid-back atmosphere. No classes, no trophies, no admission fee. Trailer queens welcome, but so are old daily riders. Garage-built customs.....cafe, street-tracker, or bobber are all welcome. Show your home-grown gems. Even rat rods would be welcome.

The date would be Saturday, June 15th, the weekend after Gilmore's.

Is anybody on this side a DS rider? www.GLDSMC.org has a couple great rides coming up. Free to anyone and you don't have to be a member(only $10/yr). They are lots of fun and a bunch of good people.

From having ridden with GLDS and also riding with a number of folks on here, I'd have to say that most here would be more at home the what the GLDS refereed to as their "Adventure Bike" loops. Unfortunately they don't have many events that still have those loops last I heard. A few who haven't already ridden GLDS events would probably enjoy the standard routes.
