Anyone going to the Roll the Bones Rally?
Got any details? Maybe a link?
If I'm not working, yes.
I designed the T Shirt. So I'd like to go.
I was looking at the designs, pretty cool! I signed up for a tent site.
I know a couple of local guys who are planning Iron Butt rides in the next couple of months, and I thought it might be fun to have a little gathering for any and all riders who have completed an IBA ride, or who want to learn about the Iron Butt Association and the rides they certify. This will be a laid back Q&A time, not a presentation by me about my rides. If you are interested in long distance riding, come on and join us!

Lubbock Twisted Root, next to Alamo Drafthouse.
new to Lubbock and wanted to introduce myself, would love to join on future rides.
Keep an eye on this thread. We haven’t had any organized rides yet. We have done some “ride to eat”s. Also have a little photo tag going on,, see Texas Panhandle Tag thread.
Welcome! It’s usually organized chaos in here, but welcome. I look forward to meeting you.
thanks guys, looking forward to it.
I’m teaching in Odessa this weekend. Anyone know if it’s safe enough that I can sleep in my truck? Or is that a bad idea in that town?
Are teaching some classes? Good luck and hope it goes well for you. You could have practiced on an old hard head like me. I need intermediate and advanced....
I’m going to take the intermediate in November and then the class to teach intermediate in December. That’s my plan anyway.
My ride out this morning was very pleasant.
I should have gone farther north early to avoid the sun. It sure hung around at a low angle long enough to be annoying.
I saw two dear, they were bedding down, a relatively good sign. And later a pair of coyotes, and a third later on.
I almost wished I had told others to count me out until much later today....
The riding was very good...the bike was running very well.
Rode Coronado Trail yesterday. Silver City NM, Clifton AZ, Alpine AZ, Luna NM, and back to Silver City. 80 miles was 2nd , 3rd, and 4th gear, all hair pins and switch backs. Aspen color at high elevations. 310 mi roundtrip, 40 degrees to 93.
Roland, your weekend sounded amazing! I taught in Odessa and lived to tell about it. It actually wasn’t bad at all....and I can’t wait to try the restaurant across the street from the range next weekend. It was packed the entire time and at least ten State Troopers ate lunch there. (That’s always a good sign)
Glad the Odessa gig went well?
Rode to Prescott AZ today through miles and miles of Ponderosa pine. Staying at one of the AZ guys summer place. Riding to Jerome and Sedona tomorrow.
Almost jealous. .. l grew up in AZ.
The road to geometry is awesome...as is all that dirt headed to Crown King.
