Aged 13-17, I'm guessing by the quality of that paint job...
At least they didn't crash it....or did they?

I think closer to 27...he and his twin brother repeat offenders, robbery, drugs, vehicle, etc

Best I could tell they did not crash it...
The VX does survive minor tip overs pretty well, AMHIK

Almost rode my GS to Canyon this morning to help my mom with some stuff at her new house. Glad I didn’t. The wind was blowing so hard that it was whipping my truck all over the road. It would have been a battle and wore me out before Dimmit. Maybe tomorrow won’t be so bad and I can take a leisure loop without having to dodge tumbleweeds and being sandblasted.

There are few picture postcard rides in West Texas, so my tiny loop today was through cotton country and some oil patch near Whiteface and Morton. Took a moment to capture the economy of the area in one picture.... IMG_4942.JPG

Yeah, the wind was bad Saturday.
Didn't ride in it. Did have to deal with it kicking my ass from Stinnett to Dumas, and then South to Amarillo yesterday around noon.

A few times it was really shoving me around my lane....

Nice day for a little figure 8 ride....145 miles to nowhere. New Moose Racing windshield did a decent job of sending the jetstream over my helmet instead of right at my faceshield. Thanks to rsmith56 for helping with the install!!

Has everybody's bikes gone into hibernation already? The weather has been amazing for this time of year! Though one needs to be prepared for the chill when the sun goes down...

No way, It may get cold, but not for long enough to hibernate the bike. I have heated grips and ride-at least to some exrent- year round!

The Texas Panhandle is pretty sparse when it comes to trees. If youve ridden Highway 60 you may have seen this historical marker dedicated to the first tree in the panhandle. Not quite the Grand Tetons.....

That kind of tells a story of the panhandle plains. Trees were not natve. Early adventurers must have thought this a barren wilderness upon their arrival........

I had a nice, yet too short ride on Sunday afternoon.

I don't hibernate the bike, but it will get some maintenance items attended to at various times during winter.

Last year about this time I somehow smoked the clutch. So it was down for a while waiting on parts.
This year the plan is to rebuild the brake system. Will order stainless lines, already have the caliper and master cylinder kits.

Will clean and repaint the calipers.
Not sure if they will go back as black or some other color.

    Thoughts?

It was a beautiful day for a ride. Checked tire pressure, gassed up and ready, liners in the gear and off I went. Didn't make it out of town before the liners came out of the jacket because 76 is a bit warm for that. So, later, as the sun went down and the temp dropped, I found that 73 seems to be the perfect temperature to ride with liners....(3 degrees? - weird). 260 Miles of fun and only hit one curb head on that I thought was an entryway to a parking lot....luckily it was low and I was slow enough as to not bend anything important...just make me wonder why I didn't see it.
