All set for a great solo-adventure
    to the New River Gorge

I'm on old route 55. Especially nice since most of the traffic stays on
    the new route 55.

I've been on the road for some time already. Had breakfast, got fueled up.
I'm trying to cover some distance so less pictures.

    Old 55. All by myself.

Seneca Rocks has become and is a central landmark and waypoint on most of my West Va trips. I do enjoy the store there and the views. Nice place to take a break.

    Nice :clap

The parking lot at Yokums. Seneca Rocks has a trail that can be hiked in a couple of hours apparently with spectacular views at the top. Never done it though. I've seen pictures.

Take your time, enjoy the ride, pictures are memories :)

How do you like that windscreen? Your height? And what brand is it if you do.

Saw this beauty at a McD's later.
An old couple were out to lunch
in this all original Model T.

Here is my campsite at Ray's Campground.
My third time staying here. I like it.

I know, I look tired. That's because I was tired.

Next day went to the New River Gorge Bridge.

This is the old bridge across the river. The only way across the river
by motorcycle. But that's just me.
By the way, you can see my ammo case panniers with my custom
homemade brackets. Works great. I guess the cases could be bigger but there good and I am going to paint them.

You know this bridge looks spectacular in person.

I rode south, west of the river till the town of Hinton then east on route 3.
    This was the view....

From this little house on route 3. A little TLC and new little get away place...maybe.

    Here's a nice place
    [IMG]

Or this one. I'm in the parking lot of a Subway restaurant. The colonial cabin is across the street.

    Thanks my friend.
The windscreen is great. I am quite happy with it.
It a "Madstad" brand. I am 6' tall but
the best thing about it is the adjustments.
Up and down 5 or 6 inches and from straight up
to tilted way back. Adjustments are easily made on the side of the road.
I can just see over the top and I have it set lower.
Not cheap at all as far as price goes but I bought cheap before and
it was a total waste of money. It is also not cheap in it's construction
by the way. Heavy duty if you will.

Nice pics! I try and make it up to WV from Tampa as often as possible. Best kept secret roads up there, don't tell no one. I like everyone else at the "Dragon" following the "slayer harleys" around [IMG]

From route 3 went to 311.
Then, in Virginia made my way
    avoiding freeways by the GPS
to Thornburg Va. where I stayed the 2nd night
    at Indian Acres Campground Resort.
This is Lake Anna on the way there.
    This shot needs a caption.

This is my camper at Indian Acres. It's an owner/membership campground.

Now the next day I made my way home in light rain. It was still nice actually but no pictures. As soon as I made it home it started pouring down.
It was a memorable adventure. Could have been longer though.

i'm with steve, except i don't usually make it that far north. a week usually gets me from BRMC to Willville, and surrounding roads. But my west va riding is normally Seneca rocks area and camping at yokum's on the river. they even rented me a horse to ride up to the top of the rocks.

Thank you, I love the West Virginia ride reports. I may have to pay Rays a visit in a couple days.
