Great area...is it ok to go offroad now? We've been to 10 or so BW100's and the power company was making it difficult to ride there....at least really offroad.

Nope! No off road riding anywhere on anything. No atv's, mtn bikes, horses.... Power Co. sold some of it's land to Fish and Wildlife and some to Canaan Valley Institute. Still have Camp 70 road, Loop road and Canyon Rim road to play on. Not to mention the entire Monongahela forest roads :evil

I will be down there the end of May. Is the road up to Dolly Sods too rough for a street bike? The Triumph will be bringing me instead of the KLR and I would love to see that area again. :ear

No, it's still running, just not out of Davis anymore. First it moved to Canaan (Timberline Ski Area) for a few years, then down to Snowshoe and most recently up to a site near Morgantown. When ya talk to folks that have raced em' all, they long for the Davis days.

Not at 60 mph! Thats about the speed where the “wash board” changes into “rumble strips”. :D That road sees more and more traffic these days, so they maintain it fairly well. Maybe you’ll get lucky and catch it the day after they put 4” of loose gravel down. :(:

You don't ride through Bland on occasion do you? I kept seeing a guy on a red KLR650 once in a while back in the summer on my way to work.

onaXR, you've got it good being so close to the Hatfield-McCoy trail system. I've been wanting to do Hatfield-McCoy for a few years now but haven't had the oppurtunity.

CliffHanger, I ride the roads and trails around Davis frequently during the summer. West of Rt.93 are some decent trails I like to ride. Www.Koontzadventures.com puts on two atv/bike races at Timberline each summer that anyone can sign up for. I've done all four so far and had a blast.

Funny thing is I have never rode on the H/M trails it doesnt appeal to me for some reason, I am sure they are great but just knowing the trail is layed out for me spoiled it.

Nope, I've only been that way on the bike once. I have a friend that lives in Dublin so if I'm coming in that direction it's on Rt. 100.
