This was just a short (545 mile) overnight loop From Richmond & Williamsburg, Va through Western Virginia / Eastern WV

So the ride was on and I met the herd at Gum Springs (I-64 & Rte 522). 6 of us slabbed it to Harrisonburg Va Sheetz where we met number 7.

From there we headed out on a loop via Rte 33 out through Germany valley
I had to stop for a couple of shots of Germany valley and caught up with the herd a few miles down the road.

Seneca Rocks lunch at Yokums, on to Elkins, Wv via Rte 33W and back to Monterey via Rte 250. Went right by the turn off to Helvitia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helvetia,_West_Virginia.

Fun place great food was really tempted to turn off there. Oh, another excuse for another ride. :ricky :ricky :ricky

2 of the guys made it a day ride and headed back to Richmond so we used that as an excuse to escort them back to the "Confereate Breastworks" on Rte 250. I took the opportunity to :ricky :ricky :ricky ride ahead and enjoy the prime road conditions on Rte 250 with NO TRAFFIC!!!! I snapped a few shots as they arrived.

The next morning John had an emergency call from the wife and headed home at 7:30 a.m. The loose plan was to ride Blue Grass Valley and then Rte 39 towards home. But after a great breakfast at Highs, which was packed, everybody but me got the itch to head back for home via slab and forego the days ride into WV and Rte 39.

I took a liesurely ride down the length of Bluegrass Valley to Rte 84. Once I got there the skies started looking ominus so I reluctantly headed back towards Monterey. Here's some shots of Bluegrass Valley.

At Rte 84 (1:00 p.m.) the skies were looking like the forecast of 60% showers after 2:00 p.m were going to happen. So, I hightailed it back via Rtes 84E, 220N, 250E, 262S, I-64E, 814E by lake Sherando, BRP south, 56E, Roseland Road, 29N, Oak Ridge Rd, 56E, 60E, 13E with next to No Traffic and home by 4:30 p.m. All in all a great ride!!! :ricky:ricky:ricky
I like this Friday hookie concept. :ricky :ricky :ricky
