Got word today, that if ya want a group rate on the Budget Motel, ya gotta call and make reservations.

I know it ain't the nicest place, but it is warm, dry, and has a shower.
Parking for the MT 1000 is there, and I might just be the guard :lol3
Not sure on the rate, but if ya fill it up, pretty sure it will be better than not.
I'll keep ya'll informed on the prices.

    Ask for Bella
    207 North Marshall Street
    Darby, MT 59829
    (406) 821-2096

it is about 3 blocks from the Logger Days.
Liquor store is across the street
Grocery store 3-5 blocks north (coffee shack there too)
    Post office 1 block north
Gas station/C-Store/casino/gun shop/outdoor and camping/some hardware (all in the same building) 1 block south.

Blue Joint is in the same lot....I hear there is a coffee shop now too, I'll let ya know in April.

Last year we had them open the high school gym for showers. Only problem with that is, that the school a couple years back installed a big biomass boiler for their heat system. Well in the summer the boiler is not running and there is no hot water. They didn't tell me that last time when I got that set up. So it's cold showers there, maybe useful for those who have been introduced to Tyll's boobs. :rofl

Anyway, it would be helpful for those with rooms to maybe offer up shower facility to some other campers, as there are enough rooms rented for the event that it can cover a lot of folks. Just a thought.

Attention ground dwellers - the campground across the street is the Bitterroot Hide-A-Way. 406-821-0199. Lisa is now taking reservations for tents & RV's. Tents are $8.00/night/person. They have 2 showers and indoor plumbing.

Can I assume they have hook ups for the RV set?

On other news, got word today we'll be switching back to 12hr shifts so I'll have to resubmit my holidays. Still won't know until April but if they are approved we'll be there

Question -- What are the facilities for tent camping at the Logger Grounds?

If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like it may be Port-A-Potties and showers (probably cold) at the high school. Is the high school close to the Logger Grounds? Is there grass or dirt for tent set-up?

    Thanks for the info.

Loggers day gounds has plenty of room for camping; and I assume will have portapotties (Dave, be sure you tell them to have the pps there on Thursday, I told them last year, but they forgot and we had a lot of folks walking around with their knees together.)

The high school is a quarter mile away or so, but Shady said thats prolly a no go. Id suggest going across the street and paying the guy at the campground a buck or two for shower time.

I just made reservations with Lisa at the Bitterroot campground across the street so I guess I can be counted as "in". PM me on where to send the check to cover the rally.

I am planning on arriving on 7/21 so can probably be counted on to volunteer for some duty if required that next day.

    Ride safe.

Those showers were fine. I mean no colder than a mountain stream with icecycles hanging off the rocks.
And plenty of room too. 10 or 12 shower heads in 15X20 room . I just ran in a circle screaming in pain until it was over.

Spoke with Sam tonight. She said she would be checking on the showers to see if they could have both cold and hot water this year.:lol3

She said that people were welcome to show up on Thursday the 21st if they wanted to camp. She will have the porta pots ready to go, water hose run, etc. Assuming the water issue can be fixed, showers will be ready to go on Friday.

If the MT1000 crew decides to put on a full blown tour again this year, we can work on parking, etc during the week.
