It would appear that you have the repairs covered
<!-- #dg-post-title --><!-- message -->I will be arriving at campside on Wednesday evening.
Anybody wants to join me on Thursday for all day ride?
I will be on KTM 500 EXC.
I like to leave for ride arond 8-9
I don't understand why people are complaining about this. For the last 3 WestFest events in Colorado, registration has CLOSED a week or two before the event. This means that if you didn't plan a week or two in advance, you couldn't attended at all.
This event is very difficult to organize. Can we stop complaining about this and maybe appreciate some of the work Ben has put into the event?
Since there are peeps that have to fig food etc. I dont think 90.00 is out of line...Just makes me a knucklehead for not signing up earlier.......135.00for a weekend of fun seems reasonable to me and let me tell you I have spent 45.00 on much worse errors in judgement
Besides I may come early and stay late so that is some more money!
Some questions about the single track ride options. First of all I will be rejetting with a JD jet kit. Can I just follow the kit directions or is there any jets I should have on hand for the very high altitudes?
Next is fuel requirements. My 525 has a 3.2 IMS Tank with about 110 mile range but my wee little 200 2T has a 2.9 with about an 80 mile range.
Should I just ride the 525 and not sweat running out of fuel or are the rides little tank friendly?
I am IN for the single track rides regardless. The more challenging the better.
You mean this one?
Yes, that exact one. Beware the Tellydoug rides, beware.
Usually JD gets it very close; close enough that you won't need any additional jjetting on hand. Most of the Taylor Park singletrack is 9000-12000 ft.
Riding over Cottonwood Pass on the 2T would be a bit annoying, but once you got to the singletrack the 2T would be a lot easier. Bring them both. Take the 2T on your first ride and if you decide you can handle the ST on a bigger bike, take the 525 on subsequent rides.
Here's a 525 heading up Granite Mtn, maybe the most difficult section of Taylor Park singletrack:
Mysterious Lake (on Star Trail)
IN. I should be rolling in Friday before 9am ready to ride. Any fun Taylor Park rides heading out Friday morning?
I'll be leading a scouting ride to check out some singletrack I've never done. I'll probably leave around 9:00 and be gone all day. A plated bike will be required for my ride.
Sounds perfect. Will try to make it!
Is anyone riding in to Buena Vista from the Denver area on Thursday? It would be fun to have some other folks to ride with. I'm planning on leaving around noonish, but that's flexible.
I'll be leaving from Littleton (S. Holly & County Line) around 2ish PM on Thursday. Going the have two other riders with me, then meeting up with another at The Fort. All are welcome to join us, just pm me for the address.
2pm may be pushing it a little for me, I get off at noon in Loveland then headed home to Firestone but I will try to meet up with you doc. What route are you taking?
I am planning on a Friday morning start to BV from Longmont. I'm considering some DS on the way there rather than just slabbing it. Anyone else going that way Friday?
We're going to have a Rally Point at The Fort in Morrison.
Address is 19192 Colorado 8, Morrison, CO 80465.
Plan is to meet up there at 2:30PM on Thursday.
Drop me a PM if you're going to meet me at my house in Littleton (S. Holly & County Line) a bit before 2PM, or if you plan on meeting us at The Fort at 2:30 PM...
I ride a BMW Dakar with the Motorsport Flag graphics...
I thought someone was leaving from Ft. Collins Friday and had a real good route planned out to get down there. I cant find the post now but maybe it was Clang?
Ill be down there by 2-3 tomorrow, saying in space #1. I am hoping it will be perfect conditions with the rain today as long as its only scattered T-strom through the weekend.
You guys have a safe ride.
Can anyone recommend a decent trail map for the Taylor Park area? Ideally something in color that shows topographic lines. I was thinking something like this but I'm not sure if it shows singletrack that motorcycles can ride?
