Ride! If something goes wrong with the bike I'm sure you (and your bike) can get a lift back to Denver. If no one will, I'll give you a lift myself. :deal

Ben, just paid, I got one of the last cabins available :clap Looks like we'll have a pretty good sized gang of Green Chili Eaters coming up, def looking forward to riding this area, it'll be a first for me.

I'm bringin the 525 so I'll probably skip the serious knarl.

And I'm sure there will be a number of us riding there, from Denver, that you could hook up with for the trip. That's more fun anyway!

Sent from my device upon which I can access nearly all knowledge in the world, yet which I actually use to look at pictures of motorbikes and cute dogs.

    IN! :clap

Also reserved the last cabin/yurt available. There's room for 2 more people (3 more if two share a bed). If anyone wants a warm dry place to sleep, instead of the cold unforgiving (possibly wet) ground of a tent, send me a PM to reserve your spot. $25/night if we fill all the beds.

    Got you down!!

With the weather starting to get nice I'm sure more people have riding on their mind. Westfest will be the perfect place for any kind of rider (or ability), from those looking for amazing dual-sport routes, back country gravel roads, historic mines, ghost towns and then the gnar single track of Taylor Park:eek1

Is there any easy single track in the Taylor Park area? Like the first section of the Rainbow trail from the top of Monarch pass.

I am not sure I have ridden that section of Rainbow (maybe, but if I did it was dark:lol3). Timberline is of course an ass kicker and then some of the stuff on either side of Cement Creek that is pretty tough. However there is plenty in-between that is fun, easier, flowing single track such as Rosebud Gulch, Deadman Gulch, Reno Ridge, Flag Creek Trail, 1st part of Mt Tilton, and then some of the trails on the Crested Butte side.

A really fun ride on a plated dirtbike would be from Buena Vista to Crested Butte for lunch and then back, combining high county gravel roads, DS 4x4 roads and some of the above single track. You could get a great variety of riding, see some incredible county, unique ski towns, and be back in time for BBQ and BS:deal:lol3

My Dad and I after he wrestled his XR650R though most of the trails I mentioned above

He's an inmate on here and asked about being a Westfest Sponsor (free whisky:clap), but I never heard back from him. I meant to try getting in touch with him again and honestly forgot all about it. I just sent another PM though

Just heard about this event, just started riding this month. I'm going to talk to my wife and see if I can get away, especially considering it's so close to Denver.

Are any of the cabins (or a bed in a cabin) still available? My back surgery precludes me from sleeping on the ground...

I reserved the last cabin (actually a yurt). Still have room for two people, three if two want to share the big bed. I'll be taking one of the single bunks. ~$25/night per person if we fill all the beds.

Send me a PM if you want to reserve a spot.

It will be a great event for newer riders, a lot of support from the more seasoned guys and plenty of easier terrain to see some beautiful county. What kind of bike are you on, did you say somewhere else it was a BMW 650?
