It was so nice this afternoon I decided to go exploring some dirt roads near where I live. I had my sights set on the Frederick Watershed since I have spent a good amount of time up there over the last couple decades mountain biking, I figured it would be a good place to get used to riding on dirt with the big KTM. This is my first dual sport bike and I have been having a blast riding it.

After starting the bike up, I noticed my odometer...that has to be an awesome omen!!!

After hitting 40 and Gambril Park road, I quickly got to the Watershed and strated enjoying the dirt...ok...wet macadom!

Finally on the dirt! It is so green this spring thanks to all the rain...

Found a neat little pull off with a creek...

Back on the road, check out these curves!

Followed this creek for a long time...

Here is a better picture of the bike without me...much easier to look at :lol3

Then I screwed up my courage and braved my first creek crossing. About two feet deep, but smooth and easy. What a blast!!

    Wet bike! I made it!

Obligatory artsy type clouds and shadowed tree pic...much prettier in person...

This was my third dirt road ride. I gotta get some engine guards for when I finally do drop this beast. Yet, I am having more fun riding this bike than I would have ever guessed I could. Every day off is a chance for another adventure...who'd a thunk that was possible!

Congrats on the new bike. Guards are a great idea(along with a riding buddy to help pick it up:eek1 ), and some knobs make a world of difference off road - Enjoy!

Thanks for the map! There's a bunch of stuff on it I haven't done yet and didn't even know was there. Maybe the rain will hold out tomorrow...

I know this is an old thread... but where is that creek crossing? I live 5 mins away from the Frederick watershed and have never found it...

What road is it on? Is it normally a water crossing or was it due to heavy rains?

    Thanks!!
