What are you trying to break now?
IN I want the whole weekend riding, not just to run into ya'll on the final leg sunday afternoon, again
Me and GuyManBro live right near Jamaica SP..... PM me, we have some fun routs to the Whites
do you have GPS tracks?
Wait, tracks for which? Me and Guy's ride to the whites? or WHACO tracks
Don't be making up stories now. I rode with Guy before...there were almost scary routes, and not-on-this-bike routes.
Hint: If you are following Guy into a corner as he clears it at 60mph on gravel, don't assume you'll do the same, especially if his bike wears knobbies and yours doesn't.
Ummm...... I rode with him without knobbies, shot steering stem bearings, god knows what else was wrong with his KLR:dllama
I'll follow him, well, almost anywhere
Hopefully, by May one of my bikes will be running and reliable. Maybe I should pre-run some routes on street tires and see if they scare me. Then I could confidently say whether or not a route is big bike friendly. Or, I could strap my spare KLR engine on the back to simulate the added weight of a second cylinder, then run the routes with street tires. Yeah, that's the ticket!
Oh, and by the way,
Well, if you're carrying a spare motor, I'll follow you anywhere!
Just remember, the next time you JB weld a piece of a beer can on your case, use the top (with the pull still attached) instead of the bottom. It makes for easier, single use, oil changes.
Can't wait to take the "new" bike into the rough (once I fix everything I'm finding wrong with it - so far: chain, sprockets, chain guide, seal guard, wheel bearings front and rear. The sad part is, the bike looked almost brand new on the outside.)
I'll probably take the 650 to WHACO though.
GMB - did you end up getting a KTM or did the little Suzuki purchase mess up your plans?
I'm kind of on a holding pattern for a new-to-me bike purchase much because of the car fiasco, and slightly because of the roof project (still have to do siding and insulation on the added space).
So for now, I just gotta get my KLR and my KTM running! Sorry to hear about the list of fixes on your new purchase. At least you're finding out in the comfort of your space, instead of on the side of the road after half a ride!
From the White Mountains to Jamaica...toss up any not to miss roads you feel like sharing..
Just nice to have options, I try to encourage people to break up into smaller groups and go different routes to the same end..
I have a route I ran the first year we did this I may run again this year...
Good to here Now get that KLR back together...do you need MWS to help you sort out any electrical issues
Ha! It IS an electrical issue. Appears to be the CDI (well the CDI is definitely shot - just hope that's all there is to it) and I have a replacement ready. Heading out to do some wrenching either tomorrow or Thursday.
I'll have to go through my "GPS Everything" dump file and see if any routes have dates and directions indicating usefulness for this ride.
Sounds like a good time , I'm in !!
Here comes trouble!
Not that it matters since all are welcome...But who are you?
