300KLX is gonna be like a mini bike for Tabor. He makes the KLR look small. I know he's gonna love it. It'll be like riding a mountain bike after riding the KLR. Now we really won't be able to keep up with him.

uh.. yeah, this is the same guy that was riding a klr on a street tire everywhere I was riding my superbad husky with a rekluse. Maybe that says more about my riding than his :rofl. Congrats Tabor!

Ditto on that front. Inspired me to order some 90/10 DS tires for the WR. He made it look Easy....

    wanted to say hello ..
some of yal have meet and rode with out at wha da hala,, was nice to meet fellow riders -THANKS joe nice cabins ,,thanks for the dvd easye have watched coulpes now...

yes ,, am the one with a avon distanzia 19inch front for avg 60/40 street/dirt rideing ,, only time is a problem is MUD (and i did have a full knobbie on rear for the rally) normal rear is shinkos707 or anakee2.. Thats on a green custom-ised-moto-ed klr650 = aka -tabor -green boots -etc ,etc..

ah yes ,,got a hold of a street legal 300klx for some more serious dirt rideing,, so i dont have to force the klr up/down some of those ruff off-road sections .. but,,oh ,, dont think i can put some 400miles (in a good day) on the klx , as easy as it is to on the klr..

so have not been on here long,, but do know area around me,,(close to cashiers, 30mins from sylva-franklin-brevard) .... LOOKING FOR RIDERS, if any one around and wants to ride ,please write !!!!!

i work most all fri/saturdays,,,, BUT ,, do have off sunday and mondays now..tuesday off soon too...

    SO WANT A RIDE???

    Crpntr,
I was on the other Husky (the one hidden under an insanely large white Safari tank. Anyway, how do you like that Rekluse on the road? I've been considering one, but don't want to rip up my knobbies any faster on the road than I do now. I commute to the office at least once per week, and it looks like 3000mi is more than I should expect from knobbies. The Pirelli's I put on for WhaDaHala are cracking from accel forces on the center lug.

Hey Clint, I have the older style rekluse that doesn't have a manual overide ('05 model). On the trail or gravel it's great. My buddies say it's cheating :evil. The model I have has 2 disadvantages. There is ALWAYS power to the rear wheel so if your jumping you're revving high. The other is on the pavement. When you're hauling a$$ into a turn and need to downshift, it's not smooth by any means. Someday I will buy another hardcore d/s bike when this one dies a long, long time from now. I will definitely buy another rekluse for it but make sure you can overide the clutch manually with the lever for those reasons. The upside to my current setup is that my left lever is my rear brake which leaves my right foot free to dab when I get squirrely in a right turn. These clutches aren't cheap but I love it. The first time you get almost to the top of a climb and dump it, you'll understand. The bike doesn't die, you just pick it up and keep going :clap. Also has really good engine braking. Buy it! They hold there value if you decide you don't like it and want to sell. If you ever decide to get rid of your te I've got a sweet 07 610sm I'll trade ya! Keep us posted, Jason

[QU more interested in how the Rekluse works on the street. Does it downshift smoothly, or jerk and scrub three rear tire.
E=crpntr;1 I'll agree the K60 was fantastic 70/30 street/dirt tire, but I'm sticking with knobbies for the TE.

Didn't realize that, good to know, I just assumed there would be none.

+1 on the heidis, 9000 miles on the last set (on the 'lebnfiddy).

    Crpnty,
Obviously I missed this detailed description of the Rekluse before sending my rerequest. Thanks for the detail. I think I'll get one to install when I replace the cam chain early next year.

Keep your radios tuned. I'm kicking some dates around and hope to post something up shortly. I don't want to conflict with any other rallies in the area so I'm trying to do some research.

I was thinking of holding a tech day at the cabins that weekend but we will be riding and eating too. I think I need to host the Spring Fling in May for the best chance at good weather. With the 2013 Freestyle Worlds going on in September, I won't be able to host a fall event until November so I'm trying to see if I can have an active Spring to make up for it. Nothing is set in stone yet.
