Upgraded to the Droid X. this thing is rocking!
FWIW, I have the Evo and upgraded the battery to the seidio 3500 battery.
It was $50 with a battery charger and worth every cent. I tried the battery tips listed on all of the message boards. My phone was still dying every day by 5 pm. With the bigger battery, it can go 24 hours before being recharged.
Well worth the investment!
Diggin' Evernote for taking notes that can be simply transferred to the PC or Ipad. You can even take audio recordings and embed them into the notes.
Also like Phoenix for ideas on various 'Love Postions".
I found "My Race Calendar" tonight.
I was looking for something to plan and organize my track day schedule for next year and this is easily modified to accomplish that. It has a comprehensive page for each event and it also has a checklist function that can help keep things organized. This is set up for bicycle/running races, but the items on the checklist are easily deleted or added so you can change things to suit your needs.
It would be great for trips as well. Handy little program.
is there an app to change the font size while texting and e-mailing? my wife cant see very well and she hates to look for her glasses to read or write a text or an e-mail.
Handcent adjusts text size for Texting, I believe. I don't know if you can adjust the text for email in the Android OS or not.... and I don't know of an add on that does that - though there I'm sure they make one.
so I finally entered the geek domain yesterday, got a droid 2 global, as it has a sim card, so hopefully I can get it unlocked & use it overseas with local sims.
Thanks for the tips on some good apps.
My next month will be wasted trying to figure this damn thing out.
I am such a techno idiot
Come by for some more BBQ and I can help edumicate ya
some MORE bbq?
this seems to tell me I have been there before,
but Im drawing a blank.
which is pretty common for me.
On your way home last time I got you to stop near Portland Oregon for Lunch. I was on my fugly KLR. Certainly not the most memorable stop on your trip but it beat eating fish guts and bugs
duh... OK, now I remember. I knew I recognized your name, but other than that, I was lost. Sorry about that!
but that KLR is seared into my brain forever!
It was pretty damn good bbq, and thanks again.
You are welcome anytime and I mean that.
These days I am putting around on a quarter pounder that has been highly modified and dosen't look much at all like what it is/was either.... I can't help myself It started out as a WR250X.
I took this pic with my droid
Try the app called Catch, I really dig it. Especially with the widget because you can do a note or picture very quickly.
Calendar Pad's week view widget is excellent. You get both the week's agenda as well as a sweet calendar in the corner. Plus it scales well so you can make it any size.
Samsung Galaxy S here (the one with Avatar loaded in it).
Highly recommend the free endomondo and parkdroid. Tracks your runs and never lose your parked car ever again.
And, of course, Angry Birds.
I just found out about and started playing with Google Translate for Android. It will perform live, voice translations for some languages and written translations from spoken words in more languages.
More about it here: http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/12/android-translations/
Go to the Android Market and look for Google Translate.
The voice is a bit computer-y but it was pretty good at understanding my speech.
Can't say how it'll do with an Alabama accent ;-).
Works perfectly, I held a lengthy conversation in spanish and it never missed a beat. These are amazing times.
I'm guessin the translator needs to be connected to the internet to work?
Probably wont help much while I travel overseas, but may be handy to practice my russian with while here
Thanks for the tip
Any answers to this question yet?
GoMarks, useful if you use Google Bookmarks.
Both work well for keeping track of stuff found online.
Craftycoders Dual Sport Maps ap is fantastic! It is the most expensive APP I have paid for by a mile but worth every penny.
It allows you do download about any map, any where and use it to replace your GPS with your Droid. Fantastic!
I get nothing for this and I am not associated with the company but it is an app for riders by a rider and I am digging it the more I use it.
Check it out!
I have been playing about 5 games of Word Feud at a time... I am hooked.
I am enjoying Fuel Log for tracking expenses and mileage for the bikes and cars, works great.
Armoured Strike, fun game...
OI Cound down. A great timer app for everything to counting down to Dakar (19 days) to timing the perfect egg or counting down to your next trip. I use it a lot.
