Why is it sad? Lots of people love their XS650's.
Brochure pix notwithstanding, I'd take either of those Yammies.
Always wanted one but ended up getting a CB750.
Of course, you're right.
I shouldn't let my taste in bikes spoil it for someone else.
At first sight the looks didn't do anything for me either way. After reading the September issue of Cycleworld, I thought it was dead sexy & the coolest new bike in all of Japanese motorcycling. However, I just read on the FZ-09 thread that it gets 33.8 mpg. I find that hard to believe but, if it's true I'll be looking for something else.
The 2013 690 Duke on page 18 of the same issue may be down on power from the FZ but, it's lighter & would probably make better time on the twisties here in hill country. $1,000 more but, it gets 57 mpg. with the cycleworld crew flogging it much harder than I would.
I think when Yamaha said "distinctly Styled" they felt it could be applied to any of their bikes. The RD 350 & XS 650 are both good (IMO) looking bikes. I like the styling of the RD better but, only because it reminds me (just a bit) of my old GT 380. (sorry no photo, my psycho ex wife destroyed the only two pix I had of it cuz there were girls in the photos)
Did you see how they were riding it?
70-90mph bouncing off the limiter all the time. You can see that in the 1000ps video. MCN somewhat too.
Rocket lll Roadster...
Yep, some people like dogs other than Corgis too?! (but not me)
I still want one of these ......today, tomorrow, and next week...
A Harley Switchback painted Highland Green.
After 40+ years of riding, I've come to the conclusion that 750 cc is my personal sweet spot. That given, my choice is pretty limited these days, & comes down to the evergreen GSX-R 750. I'd love to get one in classic blue & white. I think that some bar risers (or maybe Heli bars), a new seat, peg lowering, & some sort of small luggage rack in the rear. (That may have to be custom fabbed) would largely solve the ergo problems & give me a real sport-tourer.
Yeah, I don't understand why all the sport tourers have to be so big. I want a one person bike without all the electronic extras. I don't need a stereo or GPS or electronic suspension, etc. I was thinking of maybe making a sport tourer out of a Street Triple. Good luck with the GSXR.
Most dogs are cool, some exceptional, but Corgis rule!
This is Katy
Sorry for the off-topic, I'm easily distracted. Back to bikes...
Agreed. Corgis are great. Our Freddie is corgi/beagle, so he rules too...only half as well.
I like dogs. They are cute and all, but, back to the topic
Today, I want a V7 Special in the black & orange 750S3 livery that is currently available in Europe. I am indeed planning on trading my V7 Classic on one when they become available.
I'd ride a switchback...
Depending on where you are, they are around. Probably just a custom paint job, but Pro Italia in Glendale (more or less) has had a couple - one in green and one like the photo.
i want an old fart super bike, 2013 14r with ABS please....
Ups for the black/arnge Guzzi.
