Had a thang about one of these after hearing what I thought was a muscle car homing in on where I walking one day - local dealer has a demo machine so 1took it for a spin.

Silly power, over the top and unusable but a lot of fun trying. The hard suspension made it slower than a ADV 1200 on the bumpy roads and the nakedness made it slower than a ordinary faired 1200 on the smooth.

Worth it just for the noise though :D

OMG Did ya see the price on the bike in the post??? 16.5k!!! How do ya know the Norton is unreliable???? The base bonny is kool for what it is but there are any number of bikes lighter/more powerful/as reliable for near the money. And no matter how kool, a 16.5K bonny is crazy talk.

Man, what's your deal? So I haven't updated my stuff. You know nothing about me. Sure, I ride a harley. Recently sold a '02 zx9r I bought new. Did ya see the 1050 tiger in the aviator? Just, got a drz400 I'm SM'ing and hot rodding. Should be around 300# and over 50hp. Bring your pig bonny by if that's what got your panties in a wad.:freaky:freaky

I didn't answer because there was no reason to. Bonny's, like Harleys, are heavy and underpowered. Doesn't mean they ain't kool or fun. But a $16.5K bonnie better have more than pipes and a paint job in my book. You guys get your panties all bunched up pretty easy.

I think it was a case of your negativity more than anything. Let the guy enjoy his dreams. After all, this thread shows bikes people wish they could have.

Would like a small and practical bike for today's coffee run, but has to look
    good since it's sunny outside!

    Think this would do:

    DAMMIT! He asked me!
    :huh

But yeah, what you said. :D

The only problem with the VTR250 locally is that it costs almost as much
    as a Kawasaki ER6n.

this, a little RC4 based on the 690 duke :

If I read correctly the kit to transform your Duke to this is about 4800 euros. details in German :

Das RC4 Kit enthält IMM Carbon Verkleidung incl. Ram-Airsystem, Tank im Rahmenheck, Fußrastenanlage, Lenker, sowie als Option den Umbau des kompletten Fahrwerks. Das gesamte Kit, kann so montiert werden, ohne ein Orginalteil zu bearbeiten.

    translated:

The RC4 kit includes IMM carbon fiber bodywork including ram-air system, fuel tank mounted on the tail section, rear sets, clip ons. Also available, optionally, are complete chassis conversion (suspension). The entire kit can be mounted without modifying the original parts.

it's a one-off build. not my type of bike at all. whoever pays that price for what that bike is, is a fool with too much money.

old, british, and very rare. nobody's gonna be able to help you work on it, and parts that aren't custom built will be harder to find than an honest politician. nevermind i am complete shit with carburetors. i dislike carbs nearly as much as i dislike two-smoke engines.

i agree, 16.5k for a bonnie is frakkin' nuts. hence why i have a base bonnie and i'm riding the nuts off of it :-)

i absolutely despise "special edition" bikes, like the steve mcqueen edition of the bonnie they just put out. it's retarded. they change the paint, change out the headlight and seat with other stock components, and call it custom? more like parts-bin custom. then they overcharge you. no thanks. i just can't justify the price hike at all, unless it's that stupid, vain, exclusivity thing. some people. oh dear.
