Is there a particular bike, or a manufacturer of a bike, that is so quirky and unreliable that you would absolutely avoid?

Currently, if I was buying new I would pretty much stick with any of the more common brands. Reason being I live in rural east Texas, and the more exotic dealers are all at or over 2 hours away. Makes it a pain to get warranty work done. Locally we have a Harley/Triumph dealer, and the big 4 Japanese brands, and one of them also sells Victory and CanAm. So, I would stick with those if buying new.

If I lived in a large city, I don't think there is any brand that I absolutely would not buy. Then again, most of my riding is commuting to work, and meeting friends after work. I really don't do the long distance trips (young kids, job, etc). If I did, I would probably stick to the more major brands again to increase the chance of finding parts on the road.

Any of the spacey looking Victory line-up is out for me and I will never buy another feet forward bike for myself (due to a lower back issue) Other than that. Two wheels and a motor makes me smile.

well im done with Kawasaki.. Wont buy another .
The last 2 i had gave me some minor problems. I wont bore you with details but the other 3 jap brands dont let bikes out of the factory like that. Quality control is lacking Id say.
Trade in value sucks also They hate seeing Kaws coming back for trade in
    Why bother with em?

Any three-wheeled debauchery. As long as I can hold a bike up, I'lll stay on two wheels.

BMW and Harley Davidson and both overpriced for what they offer. Much better options abound.

I think the hardest part of owning a Suzuki Gladius would be to try and convince my friends that I was not gay!

    As compared to what?

Sorry but I am tired of hearing this and other often parroted lies.

If you don't like the brands that is fine... Just dislike them for valid reasons not the tired old outdated bullshit.

If Harley's were so over priced they would not be increasing their market share. Ten years ago it was 48% Now it is 54% Something impossible to do if they were "overpriced"

I wouldn't buy anything Chinese. It has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with the economy.

I don't believe I'd ever buy anything Italian. Seems to me they're all too expensive, or high maintenance, or there's no dealers near me.

I'd never buy a Honda. But I don't really have a valid reason. Its an odd unexplainable quirk I picked up somewhere along the line.

I can't imagine ever buying a repli-racer sportbike, since I don't have the time or money to take it to the track. Even if I did, I'd rather have a motard.
I can't imagine ever buying any sort of cruiser bike either. I just dont see any reason for having one over a different type of bike, (standard/naked, sporttouring, touring bike ect...).
