After two weeks of static trials training and dead engine breaking drills, I decided it was time for Aidan to really ride. A little review on control/brake training.

And, away he went. Time for some cone drills...

    More cone drills.

    His first rain rut :lol3.

    Water hazard training...:clap

Not bad for this first day, to be continued...

Thanks Sh, long time admirer of your BMW antics :clap.

He's been racing BMX for three years and playing around with a trials bicycle for two. So, there was a lot of training that went into today. I'm a former MSF instructor, from years gone by. So, I felt very comfortable with what I prepared him to work on. Can't wait, till the next outing...it might be tomorrow:evil...

    +1.

    Nice hat dad.

I would like to have two of those hats. One to Shxxx on and the other to cover it up with. :D

Looks like the bike is dialed in on set up. This picture illustrates a squared and balanced (athletic stance) position. Really a pretty thing.

Very similar to 20X state champ - Chuck Sutton. It's all the same.

Edit, look at shoulders, arms, head and both hands covering clutch & brake. Trials porn in a basic kinda of way.

I changed to 1 step hotter plug in the montesa in hope of curing the random miss and need to rewarm the bike in cold weather. We'll see if it works tomorrow when I take if for the first ride in almost 3 months.

Well, it was Thanksgiving today, so did all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff such as-

Repaired the kill switch on the 4RT

Cleaned and oiled the air filters on the 4RT and the 315R

Modified the air box on the Team TY. I mean why not, the bike has little compression, so why not open up the air inlet right?

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :wave

We rode with some of the best riders around here (and elsewhere) today!

Here is Rachel and Ray Peters, both TDN members playing in the rocks.

Ray got us up this rock. I told him that I had ridden it dry, but not muddy.

He said that 'it is dripping with traction, just try it!" :rofl

Here, he is flinging up it from a stop in the water. :bow

There were plenty of waterholes today. :D

We had a great day and we are going out for more tomorrow!! :clap

Full disclosure. It's not really "mud" in those shots , but more of a soupy/sand mix that tracks everywhere. It can get greasy, but not like what most here would call mud. We did slog around in some slushy honest to gawd mud later. That was a circus watching grown men slithering around, pushing and crashing like kids! :lol3

Indeed there is no mud visible. We name sections being muddy when you in any case want to avoid even a dap with the foot, ... then it's muddy.

Another sign for muddy sections would be clogged bikes which aren't shown :D

Second the riders should have got a "fango - package" at least on the rear and overall if they got a five. :evil

I live in Phoenix, AZ. in my eyes...it's MUD.

I could care less, what you all call it...:D

    Carry on.
