Crappy phone picture this is what my Evil Twin and I did today.
Last night I installed a Madstad windshield. Amazing how quiet it is now.
What kind of light guard is it? Thanks.
Touratech Quick Release.
An adventure but I have to have the bike loaded up for the long drive (way too much to take with me on the bike alone). Maryland to Texas tomorrow!

Nice Chevy! Way to go!
Well, at least you are heading for some warmer riding weather. Have a great trip - hope to see you when you get back!
Uhhmmmm.... so if you forget to make the turn on either the 10 or 20, and see NM, head back south..... I'm buying the beer....
Put some new tires on
Mitas E-10 on the front:
Mitas E-07 Dakar on the back:
Took 'em straight to the (frozen)dirt/gravel but it's too icy to get far
Reports to come...
I never liked all the excess in the rear, so I cut away most of it inlcuding the license plate light. Thanks Motorfiets for the idea.
Finally installed the Shorai battery after letting it sit on the shelf for a year because of all the failure stories I read here. This battery weighs 8 lbs less than the oem unit, so hope it works. My bike rarely sees any street duties so if it fails it will fail on the track or in the trails.
3° Celsius and some sunny spells. Got to that barred gravel parking lot for some practising.
Went for grocery shopping afterwards. Not bad for early February, last year it was around -10°C this time.
Shed 6 lbs. of weight by eliminating the right side rotor and caliper.
Did you bump up to a different rotor/caliper? If you are running the stock brembo you are limiting your stopping power dramatically in my opinion.
Nope, still on the stock caliper and rotor. But you're right, I can't do stopies just as easily One works just fine on dirt, and I don't go fast enough on slab to need dramatic braking.
Like I said on the weight saving thread, this mod is not for everyone.
Turned my stock forks into adjustable race forks! for only $300!

Ok so I'm all caught up on the voyeuristic RR's and was depressed from the latest dump. I decided to wrench in prep for the Toronto/Vancouver/LA/Grand Canyon trip this summer.
I installed a touring windsheld for her and the aluminum racks on mine.
Now if only I could find some used Aluminum cases for it. The top case was used with my Varios for the mix n match look.
I also snagged a used comfort seat at better than half price.
The red circle area is a great place to put a powerlet socket fused directly to the battery. I'm going to make a plug to power the fuel pump from here for when the controller quits.
Her TT engine guards are hanging on the wall but her bike can wait. Those are so fussy to install. I did it on her other wrote-off bike. She hasn't ridden this one yet but has recovered and is anxious to ride again.
Lately, this has been the toy of choice.
My real goal today was to find the stairs so the Mailman can deliver my Flea Market Finds!
Now it's back to drinking.
Well, dramatically to F650GS twin levels, which outbrakes the F800GS...
The dual sport tires and their reduced traction on pavement are clearly the limiting factor here. Second rotor only provides an advantage as an additional heat sink when you are really stressing the brakes repeatedly, or when you have a sticky front tire mounted.
For off roading it's a lot of unsprung weight that makes handling worse and the brakes feel more twitchy.
Not the best off road setup...
