what does touratech do to the gpsV?

    what is this 'mod' they offer,and can i do it myself?

    supposed to make it handle offroad activity and impacts better.

    from what I saw, they use clear rtv in certain places to prevent components from vibrating.

    That's it? My GPS V has a lot of miles on a lot of rough roads and trails, through alot of shitty weather and mud. It still works fine.

    I assume you are referring to the ruggedizing mod they do for around $25.
    If memory serves me they do some silicone work to specific board components that are prone to vibration failure. Also, Cycoactive (Tourtech) is an approved Garmin dealer and the mod does NOT void the manufacture warranty. This last tidbit might be enough to let them do the mod.

    good one. You missed a great dual sport ride this weekend. I put over 400 miles on my 640 ridin around the Trinity Mtns.
