Put on the Anakees and took off the TKCs for the upcoming wet winter pavement. Easy job - just change the wheels - I have a spare set with different tires. :1drink Then I began fiddling with new side cases that I gave to myself for Christmas - early. BMW System cases with liners soon to go up for sale: 1 top case and rack, 1 right side case, 2 left side cases - 1 full size and for low pipe and 1 with cutout for stock high pipe.

Took mine for its annual state inspection. Got to check out some vintage Honda's, and had a great, albeit cool, ride home. Tomorrow will probably be the last club breakfast ride of 2012. This time of year always makes me sad.

I thought a lot about this riding season (my second on my 1150GS). This year I made the bike truly mine by putting more miles on it than the original owner - just over 31,000 miles now. Next year I plan to hit up an offroad riding course, and learn what the big girl can do in the dirt.

    Ride safe.

Yes, I apparently still know how to crash without hurting myself too much. The bike on the other hand..................

    -ordered a BMW-Akrapovic slip-on...like the weight savings.
-ordered a BMW GSA windscreen and mount. worked well on my last GS.
-bought a full set of the un-liked Vario bags...they're perfect for the kind of weekend trips I take. love their design.
-bought a 600mi. service kit (fluids, filter, washers)

    That's all for today!

Thanks! I had the dealer add the GSA panniers and tail rack. The only other shiny things I added were the cylinder guard and tank bag from TT. I'll add more later (as is our way). I got it from Eurocycles in Tampa Bay since there is no longer a BMW dealer in Tallahassee. It was a demo model so I got a nice discount. This is the second bike I bought from them and they've done me right each time.

I was somewhat concerned about the seat height (I have a thread around somewhere on this), but at 5'11 (with boots) I have absolutely no trouble handling this bike. After the first few hundred miles the bike is every bit as good as I heard. In fact, even moreso because the stock seat and fairing have been just fine; no plans to swap them out.

In the spring I'm hoping to do an Appalachian tour topped off with some Virginia Civil War sites.

Just came back from GS Trophy qualifying round. I´ll have to try harder next time! That was a 2,000 km round trip (that I took on my GSA, of course). So today my bike gets a good wash and I´ll install a Denali 1 LED lights set that I took from my 1150. Pictures to follow.

I recently installed the Alt Rider Skid plate (Black).....nice and the BoosterPlug. Seems smother at slower speeds. Oh and I've been playing with the website www.picmonkey.com. Heard about it from a fellow inmate who did this awesome post to Alaska on his KTM, along with his wife riding pillion. Thanks again sir :clap! His name escapes me at the moment. This pic was done before my Alt Rider skid plate install :evil

Hope you had a good time at the qualifying round. I too will have to try harder next time, but now I have some idea of what to expect. I thought I had a good appreciation for what was involved, but it was a little different than I expected. It was still a great experience and best of all, I met a lot of great people.
