Leds lights were purchased from Pep Boys but Auto Zone also has them. Less than 20 dollars. The lights are self adhesive but I used Sugru on ends to make sure they don't delaminate.

Rode it and today, a little over 10 years after it left the factory in Germany, it finally rolled over to 35,000 miles. Yep that's right, just a measly 3500 miles a year since new. This thing needs some serious riding miles! :D

I wonder how many chain and sprocket sets that would have been on a bike without the ?problematic? BMW fd.

Dunno, probably more than the $150 in parts it'll cost me to get this FD back on the road. The only labor I've paid for so far is $25 to a machine shop to get the bearing off the axle, and I paid that because I didn't want to spend $160 on a puller that I'll use once or *maybe* twice.

Adjusted the valves, synched the throttle bodies, ran through some Techron, finished the bar swap, and ran in around PDX in the rain to take care of some errands. Happy bike!

Crap pics, just wanted to throw SOMEthing up here.

I just noticed that this particular headlight design matches a certain emoticon: :huh

I don't know if that was intentional... :lol3

Hah! It wasn't, but yeah...she does have a sort of confused look. Fear not! She knows what her calling is (and no, it's not latte runs).

Been wanting a top case for my quick commutes and auditions, something for my helmet and jacket and my tool roll when the Zega bags are off the bike. Found this Kappa 46 liter (poor man's Givi :lol3) online for $98 delivered, comes with two keys and the mounting plate and holds 12lbs of gear safely. Perfect and you can't beat the price. :clap
