Friend wrecked his GB500. I ended up with it. It can't be titled and will cost more to fix than buying another one. It's got a good motor with low miles. I'm looking for suggestions as to what I might put the motor in/on. The GB500 frame is bent, front hub shattered, tank tanked, forks pretzled, clocks smashed, pipes flattened.

Suggestions? I want to end up with something cheap and fun for my 22 mile RT, city streets, commute.

Buy a flat track frame. There are a couple companies that build them and they'll custom make them for whatever motor you want. Stuff the GB motor in, buy a set of forks off eBay, lace up some 19in rims, have a blast. Some places you can get a frame for around $1k-$1500, and you might be able to title it as a custom build in your state.

My standard answer is "snowblower!", but given your locations, maybe not...

Make up a cafe racer frame, and design your contemporary Gold Star or Manx.

More of a question than a suggestion, but will that motor drop into a 83 xr500?

It will but it has a single port head, or you could swap heads back to twin port if you had one just for ease of fitting back in the XR.

That was along the lines I was thinking, would be an ok candidate to revive an older Honda XL or XR machine. Is the GB e-start?

That bike originated out of SeeSee Motorcycles in Portland, Oregon USA. It's been featured at "The One" motorcycle show on a couple of occasssions.

I just sent you a link to their website...

    And that's correct, it's an XR400 motor, not a GB500 lump.

    HI Mr Duck,
Have you still got the 'tanked' GB500 tank. I might be interested in buying it.
