Mine was a 69' Yamaha 100, 2 cylinder. It was a badass little bike, pretty high redline for such an old bike. One day one head gasket blew so I took the head off and cut the connecting rod off as low as I could and the bike actually ran that way, I had to push start it but I drove it all over like that, with the connecting rod flinging around all chaotic vibrating like crazy, lol. To be 14 again.....

This isnt mine, but heres a pic - http://k0lee.com/images/yamaha100.jpg

Billy was riding to school on the same color 100 twin. That bike was very fast for its day, to fast.

Ducati 907ie, new in spring of '91. Still own it.

My mom wouldn't let me buy a bike when I was at home, I waited until I was out of school (and had a real job...)

I did buy a Triumph as my first vehicle while in high school... but it was a car. :D

The first that was all mine was a Benelli Fireball 50 at the age of 11. Was a gift from Sylvia, the lady that drove the school bus. Up until that point I had to share whatever my brother and I could afford (read: build from parts with our paper route money) which were mostly Honda Z50s.

The Benelli didn't run and the local dealer that Sylvia took it to could never figure out why. I don't think he really tried all that hard to tell the truth. My brother and I did try hard, going through all of the usual things in an (unsuccessful) effort to get it to spark. We had all but given up, when one day I was sitting on it, just kicking it over and happened to put my thumb on the horn button. The horn made a sharp chirping sound as the engine turned. Just on a hunch, I swapped the horn and coil wires. Presto! Spark!

Rode it around the property and on some local trails, but never on the road of course. It was a real bummer to come home from school, hop on the Benelli and blast around for a few minutes, then get on the bicycle and do my paper route. Good memories...

Not mine below, but it was the same color just faded a bit.

1972 Ducati 350 Scrambler, traded in at the local dealership with 900miles, windshield and leather saddlebags with fringes.
It lost the shield and the bags within 20 minutes of my ownership.

I really wanted a Norton Manx, but that Ducati was all i could afford washing dishes in a steakhouse/bar as a junior in HS.:rofl
