Wow...I don't doubt your experience, but I've had exactly the opposite experience with their BILT gear. I have pants and jacket from them and haven't had a problem with any of it in the 5000 miles I've been using it for. That being said I do have their tank bag and saddle bags and had a seam in the tank bag rip. With their 5 year guarantee though I walked in to the store and they handed me a new one no questions asked. Only other complaint I have with them is that they use cheap plastic zippers...but so is everyone else these days...
The Corbins take a minimum of 20,000 miles to break in,its part of the deal.
As far as them weighing 14 lbs or more thats just personality in manufacturing. The Corbin on my DR is very comfy,just took a while.
HEY! I resemble that remark,Ive got a Greeves in my ft room,it totally pulls the room together.
Dang it,I have popped huge nuts loose with my HF electric impact,it works when my air impact wont!!!!!! I cant stand to see these fine impact tools defamed.

Sounds like you have a good store staff. The bums behind the counter insisted that I give their helmet a second chance to have its face shield pop off at 80 mph. Y'know, because the first time was certainly un-representative of their quality Oriental craftsmanship.
What instructions?? Plug it in, pull the trigger, and hopefully, it will loosen the nut...not!

Bell Revolver Helmet.. loud, cheaply made, creates a vortex of wind around your head, fell apart after about 6 rides. Biggest POS helmet I have ever seen... only good thing about it was the Transitions Shield I bought with it... that worked great.
Tour Master Polar-Tex winter riding gloves. Rated at 35-50F but I couldn't even ride in 42 degree weather for over 30 minutes without my fingers freezing solid. Returned them within a week.
Yup, had one on my DRZ. It was arguably worse than what is arguably the worst stock seat in the history of ever. Corbin says you should do 20,000 miles of break-in. That's about the lifespan of the bike, awesome.
I sold it, took it to a local guy and $80 later he re-formed my stocker into a great seat....didn't need a single mile to break-in, imagine that.
Same here for the Corbin. I bought mine used and the sticker tells me it's just over 10 years old. It looked pretty well worn when I got it and after putting 20,000 on it myself, it is still an uncomfortable POS that weighs a TON. And can I mention grabbing a handful of front brake and jamming my twig and berries against the tank? The only thing keeping it from meeting a fiery death is that I can get both feet firmly on the ground with that seat on.
And why the hell would anyone buy a seat that takes 20,000 miles to break in? That would take the typical fair-weather hobby motorcyclist years and years to break in.
Number 2 on the list would be the Craftsman 3/8 ratchet that has been replaced a 3 times now over the last couple years. I'm wondering what the ratcheting mechanism is made of. Cheese?
When I bought my well-used 89 Transalp it had a Corbin on it, already well used. I find myself more comfortable on it than in my car. I've done several 250-mile days and one 500+ day and my butt was pretty much OK. Admittedly that last day was totally miserable because of cold rain, so I'm not sure I noticed my butt
A near new Peugeot 405 mi16, that the warrantee just expired on..
The Car cost me twice its purchase price in repairs over the 4 years i owned it, and i ended up giving it away as it was cheaper than fixing the Fker and nobody and i mean nobody would accept it as a trade in on new or 2nd hand cars. Atleast i got to ride my bike a lot more as it was always broken down, waiting for parts to be imported from talbot france.

TourMaster Flex jacket. Main zipper failed at 3 months. No support from tourmaster. Would not replace or cross-ship replacement, only repair during riding season (are these guys that clueless?). Liner zippers failed shortly after. Main zipper pull broke. I paid $200 for this jacket
There not that useless, i had three well used ones linking my keys together. about all they were good for.
