I am heading to Dawson next year and was curious when the d2d thread will start. I am starting to plan my trip for next summer, and want to plan it around this little get together.

I will post both the sign-up thread and the comment thread in January.

If your real question is when will D2D be held, then stand-by while I try to remember.

Thanks, looks like I will be leaving KC 6/16/18 to start my vacation. Hope to see some of you all there.

Already have reservations at the Bunkhouse for next years D2D.
New plan...after the 2018 D2D, a couple of us are going to ride Northeast out to Inuvik, then on the newly opened road out to Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. Then back to Inuvik, and back to Dawson, then the usual route over TOW highway to Chicken, loop to Fairbanks, then up to Prudhoe Bay, and back.

It will be an "adventure" :ricky

Just made my reservations at the bunkhouse also. I am going to Tuktoyaktuk also. I read about that new road and thought it would be fun. I heard about D2D later, so I can't be right there and not go. I went to Deadhorse a few years ago, so I won't be going there, but will go ride top of the world hiway. Can't wait. This is going to be a looonnnnggg winter.

If YOU decide to ride to Tuktoyaktuk "before" the D2D in Dawson, let me know, and I may do the ride to Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk with you.

Before D2D or after D2D makes no difference to me.

Will do. I have a couple parallel plans in works and need to take care of knee but otherwise I'm game.

From what I've been told the Bunkhouse is sold out for that weekend. I'm very seldom wrong because I ride a white motorbike :-)

There are usually more riders doing the Dempster after D2D than before. When I did the Dempster in2013 there were about 50 bikes all found it spread out.

That's just wrong. White bikes/cars suck.

It only sucks if you live in place where it can snow any time of the year :hide

Haha...let's get back on track....I have a room reserved at the bunk house with two twin beds....if my buddy will not be going I'll be happy to share with anyone who doesn't snore (I snore a bit but can't hear it so I'm good to go)...or fart massively.

Well the problem with this that it is a week later this year, and end of June and start of July when the rain starts according to statistics.

It seemed to follow pattern this year too it was bone dry D2D, we got mostly dry ran on Dalton, but the last week of June was wet we rode from Tok to Calgary in pretty much non-stop rain, it was epic.

So, let's agree to ride out to Tuktoyaktuk BEFORE the D2D in Dawson :ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky

My thought would be to meet up in Dawson City on June 17th, 2018. Spend the night there, and the next day roaming Dawson, eating at every ice cream store and steak house in Dawson...spend the 2nd night in Dawson...leave Dawson on the early morning of June 19th...ride out to Inuvik...and spend the night of the 19th in Inuvik. Then on the mid-morning of the 20th, ride up to Tuktoyaktuk...have a good lunch in Tuktoyaktuk, takes lots of pictures of Tuktoyaktuk, then ride back to the motel in Inuvik. Spend the night of the 20th in Inuvik...then leave Inuvik early morning of the 21st, and ride back to Dawson City, where we all have reservations at the Bunkhouse, for the D2D.

If everyone agrees...wave your hand. :wave:wave:wave:wave
