Looks like my whining has paid off. Turns out there's an 1190 on the way to America with my name on it. HOPEFULLY it'll be here next month. I'll be swinging into my dealership to do up the paperwork on Saturday. :deal

I'm getting a chubby just thinking about it. :evil

Have you ridden a 690 Enduro? With some Rally Raid kit it could be just what you are looking for, albeit not a twin.

So for you guys that are putting down deposits for the first ones in.

Are you paying the suggested price of $16400?? This is what I was quoted, and I don't mind paying it as I expected them to be that much for the first run of them.

Yes, in my case the R for $16799 I believe. Doubt you will be able to dicker for a while on the bike. Maybe the powerparts.

Interesting. R not listed yet and no "Powerparts" listed...

My dealer waived all "Setup and freight, etc" fees for putting $500 down, but yes, 16,7ish for an R

I have not ridden a 690, but I doubt that a thumper would make a bike that would be fun for as much highway use as I need, though, I'm sure it would be better in the dirt. I suspect that it might be a bit big off road as well, but that's just my assumption.

Powerparts not on main website but you can see whats available on ktmtwins.com etc.

Outta da box I am going with:

    From KTM:

    Heated grips

    From TT:

    Pannier rack
    GPS mount
    Headlight guard
    Skidplate (like the nylon skids)

    From Kriega:

    Overland 60 soft luggage rig

I worry about catching the right side pannier on this bike because they all stick out 2 inches wider than the handlebar in the right due to the exhaust.

This is the correct answer. All the dealers were offered the program. Some took advantage and some didn't. :*sip*

If all dealers ordered last week, will the dealers that did take advantage of this (demo's) program receive their bikes any sooner.

I feel its a little tacky to drive 300 miles to a dealer with a demo now, ride his bike, and then come back to my local shop and put a deposit down.

I have been reading Noahs thread (http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=781893) and it made me think of the 690 when I saw your post. Dunno if you have seen it yet, but he should get a job with KTM selling the 690's!

Technically speaking the order program doesn't end until the end of this month.

The answer to your question is no. We all get bikes at the same time (give or take a few days due to logistics).

Thanks for the info. The reason I came up with that idea was the two dealers without the demo said it would be 8 weeks from ordering, and the dealer with the demo said early to mid December.

I suppose the answer is somewhere inbetween the two, and no one knows for sure.....
