Any leads where I can get one?
But if you don't mind waiting a month, you can order up a Bagster cover.
You'll have to have one made, hardware girl had a nice one done for a HPN tank and it loos good.
Bagster out of France makes tank covers, and set them up so their tank bags climp onto them... nice stuff
Here's a picture stolen off of the web
I'm still looking for a closeup shot of a bagster on an R100. Anybody seen the actual fitment?
same as the one above you.
Look on Motobins website.
I have one that fits a r100Gs.black pleated,w roundels ,i think.$100.00 shipped, or trade for a R100RS tank cover.
I have one of those. The seam along the top leaves a mark on the tank. Strap front to back...very fiddly. Fit only just ok otherwise.
A few years back, I had a bunch made at a local auto upholsterer. Sold some to friends for cost and the others via ebay for $90-100. They were better than the Motobins ones. Upholsterer decided they were too much work for not enough return eventually.
Point being, you could do that to. They'd need a tank for measurements, lose the quilting, careful flatening of the seams to avoid rubbing on the tank, keep it plain, think hard about the fasteners/straps...velcro v buckles v clips. Plastic buckles of course, one loop at the steering head, one loop behind the taps, but not over the air intakes...
By "close up" I meant at least near the bike
I googled bageter and airhead and stole that picture from the web... try that
I picked this one up at Mid Ohio a couple years ago.$40
Anyone know how much for a Bagster locally to you?
Here in Oz, they're $295,:eek1 and need to be ordered, made, posted. Weeks.
$209 here, and I talked to the importer yesterday for a one month turnaround.
Mustang had it DOWN. The cover wrapped the tank completely, and the side pockets were awfully handy. We thought about reproducing them but couldn't make the numbers work when compared to Bagster (even though their full cover clips the edge of the tank, from what I'm told).
thanks all for replay
X2 and actually a full review of the quality and fit
that look nice maybe this is the way to go (custom made)
do you have any photo of the mustang one?
I think I have one just like that somewhere.
If you do, and it's in decent shape... I've had ads out forever trying to track one down.
I regret selling that bike, but since I've replaced it I REALLY regret that cover going with it.
I hardly ever read that stuff. I will look for it and PM you if I find it in the next couple of days.
