I rode the Rockies several times about 15+ years ago and I recall riding by a bluff several hundred feet higher than the blacktop road I was on and there was large number of ship bow shaped protrusions from the top of it. It make me think of the term "battleship row", not in the sense of Pearl Harbor but that it was like a shipyard with similar sized ships resting beside each other. It was a rather magnificent scene and I thought I'd taken some photos but can't locate them. I'd like to see that spot again.

Has anyone else seen this in their travels out west? If so I'd love to get some directions back to it.

There is a rock formation called Battleship Rock in the Jemez Mountains in the Santa Fe NF in New Mexico. It is about 6 miles north of the town of Jemez Springs on NM 4.

The rock does look like the front of a battleship, but I have never stopped long enough to look for any protrusions.

Did you ride the Chief Joseph Highway?
Where it crosses Sunlight Creek, there's a big rock you can see looking southwest that *I think* is called Battleship Rock.
