LOOKS LIKE A FUN ROUTE! COUNT ME IN . HOW MUCH IS OFF THE PAVEMENT? I'D LIKE MY WEE RIDING BUDDY TO COME ALONG.
Looks like fun but I'll be working.
not sure about the roads. i usually just plug in way points into my gps and say 'that looks interestng' . but i will check on google maps to see if there are any good secoondaries allong the way. please bring any route suggestions too
Looks like 2 sections of unpaved roads (If they in fact exist). One from Tono to the Alpha/Centralia road and the other from Mossyrock to Toledo. The first is through the steam plant/coal mine and may not be open but looks interesting. The second may exist but is logging roads and they have a habit of changing.
Sorry we won't be able to be there - The main reason I bought the Wee Strom was to explore new roads and get off of the familiar pavement on rides such as this.
thanks i appreciate the intel. i love riding through unknown areas. kinda like throwing a dart on a map. maybe we'll see you next time.
Don't know about unpaved roads but the one from the coal plant (Big Hanaford Rd) thru Tono to Bucoda is a fun little paved road. Watch out for dips and repairs :eek1. I rode some of those last summer from Alpha to Bucoda bring along a GPS because some of them dead end way off the beaten path without warning.
Some day we need to explore all the dirt roads in/around Mt. St. Helens between Nf-25 and I-5 been wanting to do that for awhile.
Are we going to be on our own on the 14th, or will you be able to get out of work and take us on a ride? I like all the route suggestions!
If you cant get out of work, Fish Brewing is all set up so maybe you could meet up after you punch out?! Itd be great to met you and the rest of the South-Sound gang!
I won't be able to get out of work, but i will make a b-line to the fishbowl as soon as i get off. somewhere around 5 ish. But here's a run through capitol forest that might be fun. should only be about a 2 hour run. just have your gps auto calculate the route.

You dog! You beat me to the Fishbowl...
While you were out having a nice ride, I was "servicing" the in-laws at a Sunday brunch.
I hope you had a great time and the weather held! How was Fish?
Your GS looks similar to mine with the rear seat and rack removed...built for haulin', baby...haulin' ass!
