I am taking a group of riders up to Driggs Idaho this summer. That is near Jackson Hole, WY. I like jeep roads and single track. I know of some single track in Idaho south of where we are staying but don't know of any for sure in Wyoming. Any locals care to join us or show us around some? It would be appreciated. Always like to meet new friends. See www.rideisdc.com

My favorite place to ride in Wyoming is the western half of Colorado.

Try going to the Black Rock Ranger Station just east of Moran on the Towgwotee Pass Road. Get a map at the ranger station and take a ride up Road 30160 and you can ride all the way up to Leidy Lake. There is some real nice dirt roads to run up in that area. Watch out for bears! The Gros Ventre and the slide lakes are another places that are nice to see, some real geologic history in that area! Have a blast.

The Gros Ventre is a great place, Big Horns have some good trails - single track too.
Just stay out of the wilderness area, your likly to catch a stray round from a hunter this time of year, pluss you should not be in Wilderness - ruins it for all of us.

what is your main route going to be?

If you are willing to do some... interesting... transfer areas between dirt, you should try and make it up into the Hams Fork Drainage area, you can ride from southern wyoming most of the way to Jackson on nothing but dirt roads through there with a connection into the Greys Drainage.

You could also do some really awesome desert riding if you come in the eastern side and do cross country through the Red Desert. The only thing I haven't figured out yet for a 100% dirt crossing of the state is how to get up on the Hog's Back from the Red Desert. The rest (from Laramie to Evanston) is simply following oilfield roads and two tracks with a general heading of east or west.

guess I should have looked at the date of the initial post... gotta love necroposts.
