Guess it's time for Baby to get new shoes. Rim Lock fell apart and
poked a hole in the tube. Pneumatic deficiencies are a pain in the rear but at least we had the stuff to fix the problem with us.
Remind us to both get more glue.
Ok, got a bunch of littler things I should have and/or carry. You mentioned a tank bag??
OMB, We went right by the road up Grass Mtn. just out of Alsea. 250yds west of Hayden on 34.
Say it ain't so fluffy,, I dontwanna flat tire!,, pump me up!
OMB, doesn't the road south/east off the top of Badger usually have a gate closed?
Bummer, looks like the Burrego was made by a dyslexic fabricator. Nowhere near straight and even.
Yes that area is gated and signed. If you see the gate open there is somebody working up there. They have been cutting up there recently. You do not want to get caught in there.
Heading south this weekend, stopping at Crow store for anyone wanting to go at 9am Sun.
Plan is out to South Sister Rd, to Weatherly Cr., over Devils Graveyard just cause the name is cool, take a break in Elkton, Hardscrabble to Upper Smith to Elk Cr. to Loraine and home. Maybe south of Elkton to Tyee Access and loop back around to Drain.
Edited the day.
Doggetter, my Paisley friends say somewhere in town rents rooms. Don't remember the name, but it cant be too hard to find in that berg. They also mentioned the hot springs west of town, they got cabins, sounds like.
Ok so I must be loosing it, there must be a reason you somehow know I'm partial to that area, but I can't figure out the link.
I fished the Chewaucan when it WAS a river,,,funny how 40 plus years changes things,,thanks Whorehauser!
Paisley School is exactly the same as it was when my wife attended classes there,,,Paisley hasn't changed much,,,Bly was a happening place when I was a young choker setter,
80 to Beatty,
fly to Bly,,
Gonna get me a gallon of Bali-hai!
Well did you do it? I was tempted to join when I checked out the route, looked like a great ride, but chickened out when I saw how incredibly crappy the weather was.
I grew up in Silver Lake and went to High School in Paisley. Yep, 50 miles each way. My dad worked for the ZX ranch there in Paisley. Wonder if I know your wife or her family?
Rained/misted solid all the way to Elkton. Since it wasn't the best of days I didn't try to hard to stick to my plan and missed Devil's Graveyard on the way out. A mediocre lunch at Arlene's let my soaked feet warm up just a touch as I did some online checking of past and future travels(still hate my mapping situation). It was dry for about 5 miles out of Elkton and when I tried going north on Indian Cr and Jack Cr I found gates and the rain resumed. Back via Hardscrabble and Upper Smith to Loraine had me paying more attention since when the pace picked up so did the congestion, as there were several vehicle and people popping up out in the boonies.
The first 3 weeks of owning the DR has me at 1060 miles on it. 190 more today, and with the rides after work I should have maybe 1500 on it before the first month is up. Problem is decisions on where to ride are harder to come by. When the snowpac lifts it'll open up a bunch more possibilities.
So, tomorrow I'm headed back to the Alsea area to check out the north side of Grass Mtn again. It looked like a less traveled area and could show more 4footed critters that I like. Any one want to tag along let me know.
We want more pictures !!!!
I'll post some from today's journey when I get home. 8450 miles on the odo, up from 7000 miles when I got it. Saw 4 deer and a chipmunk today, what he's doing out this time of year is weird.
