Hello! The hubby and I bought a new GPS. We will use it for both car and bike and wanted one with bluetooth so it would pair with our SENA helmet communication system. Yeah...nope. Only cell phones. I don't want to pay the exorbitant price for a motorcycle gps, just because it's water proof. Do any of you use a GPS, 5" screen, lifetime maps and traffic that will pair with your helmets? If so, which make and model number and price?
    THANK YOU!!

Automotive GPSes typically do not transmit the navigation voice over Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is there for cell phone pairing for handling phone calls.

Your only choice is the Zumo series at the (much) higher cost.

Or buy the Sena dongle that transmits the audio out jack to a headset. I don't remember the model number though.

I'm no authority but I don't know of any non-motorcycle GPS models that will work as you wish. However, I suspect a more states pass laws regarding hands-free only cellphone usage in vehicles, Garmin will put that in other units. I use the Zumo 550 in both my Avalanche and my BMW bike. Works fantastic.

Do Garmin automotive GPSes have headphone jacks? I was under the impression that they did not.

I had a Zumo 550 paired with my Scala G4 and the connection and sound quality was marginal at best. Upgraded to the 665 and I'll have to say that I am more than satisfied with the Bluetooth of the combo. The screen on the 550 was much better in sunlight than the 665 but when it comes to sound quality, volume and Bluetooth connection the 550 isn't even in the same ballpark as the 665. Another feature that I am really impressed with on the 665 while on my bike is the live weather radar. Is it overpriced, definitely....

I have the Garmin installed on my IPhone little pricey but you should be able to pair with bluetooth. You can get it for any Droid too.
