I don't have a Hornet problem, but MAN OH MAN! The Love-BUGS! I think it's just the bright colors they're attracted to, because they Ignore the red on my bike and go STRAIGHT for the white on it, I'll get on and go for a ride only to have a million Love-Bugs flying out of my fairing at my face. :rofl

Hrm, I also wear hi-viz, but they mostly go for the bike instead of me. Maybe I am too ugly for them or they can't stand the taste of Canadian flesh - far to nice, sweet and polite for their liking. :norton

Hummingbirds are attracted to my red GS. They keep getting caught in the garage when they go in to check it out.

Have you checked under your seat for a hornet's nest? Maybe you're riding their house.

They like several things about your bike.... They are attracted to protein, such as the bug kills on your bike. They are attracted to bright colors on your bike or clothing...especially reds ,yellows and orange. they may be attracted to your polish that you use for your bike, especially if LEMON scented. They may be attracted to after shave or deodorant that you use..... the bottom line? STINK and be DULL colored or they will be around.
