We all share a common passion; riding our bikes out on an adventure. I've searched the Photo Forum for reasons why we choose to endure; the heat, the cold, road food, other trials, and tribulations. I didn't find one dedicated to why we ADV, just single subject photo threads.

So I decided to start one concerning why we (inmates) continually go out there. Is it the destination? a rally? trip of a lifetime? meeting new people? riding with friends or family? or just for the memories? you decide...

Post your best pic(s) and why you go out there again and again and again... who knows, it may even inspire some of us to visit those same places....

    I'll start...

As for me; I retired in 2015 and once I was freed from the bonds of having work related responsibilities - I started going on adventure rides to explore places I have always dreamed about and now I'm "livin’ that dream". I want to capture these images so I can look back and reminisce about the good times...

like camping by a lake in Spokane, WA...

taking a breather to admire Pickhandle Lake near Beaver Creek, YT...

and meeting new and interesting people like Mitzi at Homer Spit, AK...

We hope to see why YOU go out there.

    Cheers...

I do it for the peace and quiet, enjoy the scenery and exploring different parts of the Country.

I retired in 2009 from a high stress corporate job.
The ADV community was an amazing place to meet people who did not care about work, just play.

For me the ride has always been about time with my wife. Last year we finally got to take our first long distance trip, Vegas to Mount Rushmore and back. This year we did LA to Vancouver. We love hitting up all the National Parks and Monuments. Mostly I love to just spend time with the wife. I think she just likes taking pictures. She also races desert and motocross with me. Yes I won the spouse lottery. IMG_6787.JPG IMG_6868.JPG IMG_7618.JPG IMG_6893.JPG

When I am home I can leave work at work, but I have a bad habit to worry about the farm stuff, so riding is one of the ways I can leave it all behind and just clear my head and enjoy the beautiful nature.

There's a little bit of satisfaction in knowing that no one else I know will ever see this road.

Because when we are out there,
we discover more beauty even on a day trip than other humans in maybe a whole life.
No matter if it's cold, warm, wet or dry.
We love to admire every molecule that nature gives us when out on a ride.
We share it and feel so wonderful after no matter how many miles or hours in a seat of the Motorcycle.
Best way to get exhausted. Ever.

    This is sooooooooo true!

Some people are stuck in suburbia during their daily grind and never get to escape their urban prison..... I can think of a few relatives that fit this description...

For me, the main reason for my motorbike trips is to see the world before I fall off the twig, there is some fantastic scenery out there, and I think the best way to see it is by motorbike. It's a great way to meet friendly people too.
