We're not hijacking the thread, we are supporting the original post; don't buy a Ural because owning one causes all sorts of problems, like skipping work or chores for a glorious spring ride in the hills.

Where would the world be if everyone were out riding one and having fun?

Don't buy a Ural! If another Ural rider hears of a Ural vs. moose accident in your state they text or e mail to see if yer ok....

Just found this thread today. My brand new 2013 forest fog gear up should be ready in about a week or so at Raceway in Salem.
In spite of any and all negative crap being spewed in this thread , I AM UNAFRAID AND EXCITED . It will be like old times wrenching and maintaining my old bmw /2s in the past. Only this time parts are available and cheaper.
I'm retired , have a map of all logging roads in Oregon , an Australian Shepard passenger, fishing license, camping gear, gps and TIME.
I'm still back on page 16 with this thread. ..... So it will me take some time to get to this point in time .
In the meantime talk among yourselves and play nice.

I know that guy!!! Bob's camo gear up was/is the reason I have a hack in my garage. (No it's not a Ural, but it will be in a few years )

Stop taunting me! We have put a deposit down on a Yamal, problem is it won't land in Australia for another couple of weeks, then there is customs, delivery, setup etc.
The suspense is a killer! :lol3

It's definitely the brightest with all those lights. :lol3

Seriously though, can you post a closeup photo of your lightbar on the sidecar? I was contemplating hooking up some auxillary lights for MrsDonkeys last year, but she lost interest when I mentioned punching holes in her sidecar bumper. It seems she doesn't like me drilling holes in her Ural. That lightbar looks like it might be a good compromise.

FYI, Ural is selling the Yamal fog lights as an accesory now, no drilling needed kit.

They are listed on UralNE's website. $359 I think.
