Another great day in the Maritimes.
a Minnesota April a few years ago
First ride of 2017. Went down to the lower desert, 4500 to 5500 feet, to get away from the snow up higher:
Going back about a decade, my first attempt at ice screws. Motice that they're installed from the inside.. Needless to say, my tubes were the weak link. As shitty as it was, it was huge fun while it lasted.
I've come a long way since then. These carbide babies are incredible. The ONLY thing you can't rude through with these is deep wet snow over about 6".
Winter in CA
Riding at -24 C On snow-icy roads it's fun to do it with sidecar Izhevsk.
That's it, time for the sidecar endorsement (separate endorsement from the 2-wheeled kind here in Washington state).
Invasion of the Russians! Yikes!
Yeah, it is separate. When you take the class you realize why!
Just take everything you learned about riding a 2-wheeler, then do 90% of it wrong--and that turns out right for the 3-wheeler.
Oh, I know its different! Could tell just from sitting on one, just from looking at them.
A few years ago I had a friend who did some ice racing with a group of guys he knew . This guy showed up and tried out his new studded tire set up . See that green stuff on the ice ? He miscalculated the distance between the tire and the radiator . On the lake in Nashua , Iowa .
Still not sure why the neighbors think I'm nuts.....
Today in France
A few weeks ago. About 5°f that morning. My first snow with this bike. Just testing the waters before I dove down the steep hill to check my mailbox. Other than having to chip the ice away from the starter button( my bike lives outside), it was just like any other ride. Love this bike :)
^^^ Your milk crate fell off.
I take it off for glamour shots.
