A few adv riders and my self set off to the east side of the mountains for a couple days of exploring roads, spur roads, and trails. Here is a a few pics of what I taken. I wish I had taken more. How ever I know some who took a lot and he is even better with ride reports than I am. Stay tuned

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention speed limit on national forest roads are 35 mph max unless other wised posted I got off with a warning doing 52 in a 30 in the middle of BFE. And there was no sign to be seen until he pointed behind me said there it is. Funny thing is that's the only sign I saw and it was pointed in the opposite direction we were going.

The local FS cop let you go?! Wow you are lucky... he's not known for giving warnings.

I have a bunch of pics. Will sort through and post some tonight.

Fast riding and good times. 260+ miles on dirt, lots of dust, some snow, logs, and water. Good eatin' too.

ya mark i hear what you are talking about. however friday i went to SP and purchased a new pressure suit, knee/shin pads and gloves. i was not going to ride again until i purchased them... after seeing how a gravel road can turn a riding jersey into rags, i would just feel scared riding with out them now.

    how is the hand?

Good on you. You'll be fix'd faster than my car. I won't see it again until after the 21rst. $8K damage. Still, way better than any trip to the emergency room. Hope to see you soon.

Since my car's gonna be broke still, I won't be there. You'll have to look for some other boobs besides me.

+1 on the snow level report. I'd be very eager to hear if any of the roads are still blocked on the route.

I was just over in Chelan 2 weeks ago and didn't see any snow up near 4,000 ft. I was thinking of possibly running a few sections of the northern WABDR this weekend - depending on snow and weather predictions.

Tom, of all your pictures, this one was my favorite. :evil

Edit: I need to learn how to link pics from picassa. Never used it before, but I'm getting tired of photobucket.

Gregarious, we hit snow above Mazama at about 5800 feet, just in drifts across the road. We also crossed Baldy Pass on FS37 between Winthrop and Conconully, with just a little snow at the top (6100-6200 feet IIRC).
